Growler fill from the Green Growler in Croton-on –Hudson, NY

Pours a dull shade of golden, lighter amber, hazed.
Light khaki head that stays a spell, then leaves a loose thicker film, a high collar and nice looking sheets of fine sheeting.

Sniff reveals a muted fruityness, with some wheat malts and resiny hops. Intriguing…

This offering is on the hoppy side of the wit beer world. Hops on the aggressive side. Citric, with lime showing its presence, and following through the finish. Fruity and grainy hops all over this one. Quite dry and enjoyable, nice one Brooklyn….

Enjoyed on tap at Blue Monk. Good yeasty wheat aroma, very fresh characteristics. Light coloured, carbonation bubbles are apparent. A tasty sweet, seet and spicy. Good drinkability for the style. with a drop of orange peel, nondescript spices, a little like a saison. Above average mouthfeel.

A - Pours golden with a cloudy look. A thin layer of foam settles quickly. Lacing on the glass is rings around the glass.

S - the smell is very fragrant. Scent of fresh cut flowers, honey, and coriander. There is a subtle tartness of citrus as well.

T - Flavors are sweet with a spicy note in the finish. Some light grains are present. But overall this is a light beer with mild spicy notes.

M - Easy drinker but the flavors don't lend itself to being particularly drinkable. I found the scent and flavor profile a bit much after one of these.

O - A funky witbier with a unique aroma. It is a standout, but not one I would enjoy more than once.

Wow! This is one of my favorite beers of the year. A very big head that sits atop a basically clear golden brew. Some good lacing that coats the glasss lightly and a thin covering remains after a gentle fade. Aroma has a lovely sweetness that is not traditional of the style while giving a good solid wheat core that is. Some bubblegum and maybe a dash of clove. Citrusy notes are bigger than the traditional orange. Lime gives a dryness to the overall character that replaces the general sourness that is common for the style. Yeast and corriander give a zesty spiciness that is reminescent of one of my all time favorites, Cuvee de Cardoz. Taste confirms the break from tradition with a solid wheat malt core and a bright citrusy lime hoppiness. Bubblegum shows up a bit in a honeyed malt that flows throughout. Lovely spice and lime combination flow to a bright citrus finish that is dry and hoppy. Feel is crisp and light with a quenching character that makes it highly drinkable. Carbonation is spot on, actively mlid but effective.Supple as it flows over the tongue, medium light weight. Drinkability is superb and delightlful. This is an excellent summer beer but the hoppy citrusy character makes it a great session ale for anytime of the year. A great take on the usual suspect an I am glad I have more than one growler.

A: Had on tap at the brewery. Slightly hazed golden straw color with a hefty white head that recedes into practically nothing, which is a bit disappointing.

S: Smells very wheaty, with spicy yeast and citrus notes.

T: Opens up with some extremely bready wheat flavors, which goes a bit tart as the subtle lime peel and coriander come in. A bit of hop bite and more grain on the dry finish.

M: Medium body but feels quite light. Carbonation is spot on.

O: Interesting witbier. I've always wondered why nobody uses lime in this style because of its nice balance of tartness and bitterness, and it turned out quite well.

A-Clear yellow orange, three finger fluffy white head.

S-Wheat, grass, spice, lemon, orange and coriander. Exactly how a witbier should smell.

T-Starts with wheat and lemon. Tad bit of grass. No bitterness. A major step down the smell.

M-Light in body, some carbonation and almost watery.

O-Everything was downhill from the nose. Still a nice beer though. If you have the chance to try it before the kegs are gone, do so.

Poured from tap into pint glass at Terrapin in Rhinebeck, NY. Pours a hazy golden orange color with a good deal of head. Spicy wild yeast aromas, but mainly herbal/heather/lavender aroma. Im not usually a fan of this type of aromas, but its not bad in this brew. Taste is very peppery wild yeast, some citrus, and some floral flavors. Its very complex, but one is all I could probably do. Very interesting brew, and well worth a try.

I had this on-tap at Max's. Served in a sample glass.

Appearance: Pours a clear golden color with just under half a finger of white head. As the head fades, it leaves some nice lace on the glass.

Smell: I'm getting some light malt along with a spice note. The spice note is a bit garbled.

Taste: I can pick up the coriander and there is a touch of lime peel. Light but I wouldn't describe this beer as crisp. The finish is bready and yeasty.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with prickly carbonation and a dry finish.

Overall: This beer didn't really stand out in any way. Not bad, but I don't need to have another.
