Beer notes from 6/15/13; on tap at the Gramercy Tavernin NYC: pours slightly hazy amber gold color with a foamy 2 finger white head that faded slowly and left good lacing and as it went down.
Smells like a tangerine, orange peel and piney hops, mixed with light grains, caramel, earthy notes and grass; very light smelling, like a nice summer beer.
Tastes like an IPA and pilsner were mixed together, with piney hops, citrus hops, lemon, orange peel, mild grapefruit, grass, hints of caramel, light bready notes and an overall beer crispness like a fresh German pilsner had some West Coast hops dropped in it for near perfect balance. The low ABV made it dangerously easy to drink and I downed two pints in about a half hour before dinner.
Mouthfeel was very light and crisp, with mild carbonation, a light body and outstanding drinkability; this is a definite session beer that has everything I look for in a quality beer on tap, especially when it's hot out. This was perfect for trying a new beer with flavor while standing at the bar waiting to be seated and engaging in conversation.
Overall I thought that this was great and I hope that someone from Brooklyn Brewery reads this review and keeps this beer in the year-round rotation and not just a one off Brewmaster’s Reserve experiment. This beer was excellent and deserves an encore.

picked up a mini 12oz growler earlier today. enjoyed from a brooklyn snifter.
brew poured a murky but transparent yellow orange with hardly any head. spotty oily lacing and hard to build up any action in the glass. nose is fairly piney and soft fruit. clean and soapy. taste is also soft fruit, piney hop and soapy clean. body is under carbed...could be from the growler? very watery with soft soda like fizziness. overall, a bit too sessionable for me. dial back the abv, but don't dial back the flavor and punch. not bad, just too watery for me...pretty much a watered down ipa.
