12oz. bottle poured into imperial pint glass.
A: Pristine copper hue with excellent clarity. A moderately large cream-colored head forms upon pouring and shows signs of wonderful retention and lacing. Not the most breathtakingly aesthetic brew, but is a great example of what an IPA should look like.
S: A toasted malt character with some slight citrus from the hops. Unfortunately, in the nose here the hops seem to balance the malt and that's not what I look for at all.
T: Luckily for this, the taste doesn't follow suit with the nose. A lot of orange-pineapple citrus up front, touch of grapefruit. Malts provide a bit of a toastiness to the flavor and a hint of caramel. A bit of yeast in the finish. Aftertaste is some lightly bitter hops.
M: A bit on the lighter side, medium-bodied at most. Carbonation is a bit exaggerated, but after sitting in my glass for a few minutes it calms down a bit, and a few swirls in my glass helps to tone it down a bit as well. Feels way lighter than a brew that sits at 7%, almost more like a session brew.
O: Yards is local, so I absolutely love picking up their offerings. I've had this brew on-tap before and that seemed to be eons better than the bottle. For what it is, Yards IPA is a solid brew that feels quite sessionable. Might recommend this to those that prefer their IPAs on the less bitter side.

Pours hazy gold color with a small off white head that faded quickly and left good lacing. Smells of sweet malt, caramel, biscuit, lemon zest, floral hops, grains and some citrus fruit. Pretty basic nose, but very well balanced and better than normal for an English style IPA. Tastes like it smells, with malt, caramel, biscuit, lemon zest, floral hops, grains, orange peel, toffee, mild spices and some citrus fruit like orange juice or some citrus hops. It's sweet but the malt and hops taste is evenly divided for great balance and drinkability. Tasted much better than it smelled. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth, with average carbonation, a medium body that was a little chewy, and a malty aftertaste that was sweet with nice citrus accents. Overall this was a nice English style IPA that would make for a fine session beer.

12 oz bottle was poured into a pint glass.
Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a pale orange color with great clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Nice lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.
Smell: Caramel, toasted malts, light citrus, herbal, and grassy hops.
Taste: Definitely malt forward with the hops and bitterness in the rear.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, fruity, chewy, medium bodied, and medium carbonation.
Overall: Nice take on an EIPA. Next time in Philly, 'I'll check these guys out and this beer too.
