Saisons were originally brewed to keep farmhands happy and hydrated during the warm summer months. True to the style, Yards’ Saison is a semi-unfiltered Belgian style ale brewed with distinctive Belgian yeast. It’s delicate and fruity with a subtle spiciness. Styrian Goldings in the kettle lend a touch of hop to the palate, balancing out this highly drinkable version of the classic style.

Old Bottle from Todd, unknown date but it has the older style label and says its 4.7% abv. A careful pour yields a brilliantly clear deep golden color with a huge bubbly white head that persists. Light oxidation that is sherry and faint cardboard but the aroma and flavor are still earthy spicy saison. Surprised it held up so well given the abv,

L - 2-finger fluffy yellowish head atop a medium orange, translucent body.

S - flowers, brown sugar, oranges.

T - follows the nose. Very floral, backed by citrus. Anise, biscuit, cloves, banana. No bitterness. Moderate sweetness. No booziness.

F - medium body and carb.

O - a little too sweet and banana heavy to enjoy fully.

About a medium body and carbonation, overall a nice feel. Aroma of orange peel, coriander, yeast, malt, and what came off as bubblegum
. Taste wasn't overpowering but it still tasted of spices, orange peel, yeast and malt. Overall it went down fairly smooth and would have it again

I really enjoyed this beer. Tastes of bananas, clove, and some spice. A really refreshing beer that is great on a hot summer day. Absolutely loved the taste.

Maybe I was in the mood for Saison on Indian Summer Sept afternoon, seems like a great match for Philly water.
a: Pours a sediment packed, hazy golden body with a fizzy head that dissipates and leaves a bit of spotty lace/
s) Mostly pleasant Belgian yeast, with orange and coriander and not much bubble gum or odd notes. Fresh.
t) Follows smell with a predominant orange flavor with coriander and spice; then in nice see-saw, yeast. hops. and bitterness arrive, attenuating into clean, dry finish.
f) Light bodied, effervescent, great wine-like apertif.
o) Simple, field worker saison, great first of evening or before dinner. Dry and simple.

part of a flight at The Brickhouse in Orwigsburg PA on Monday.

Faintly hazy golden yellow body. small but persistent bright white head. Some lacing.

faint spices on the nose, no bubblegum or yeast that I could detect.

The spices are a little stronger than the nose would suggest. Fairly sweet, low abv just about makes it sessionable. Good muted taste to it.

Between medium and thin on the mouth, slightly dry and faintly peppery on the finish.

Overall, this is a Yards beer I've never had before, but would not be shy about picking it up again. Not a full throttle saison to be sure, but quite refreshing.

Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) bottle into a Weissbier vase; no production information.
A: Pours a clear, dark golden color.  Quarter inch off white head with modest retention.  Strong, persistent Belgian lacing.
S: Aromas of bread and clove.
T: Palate follows the nose except for strong up front bitterness. Clove greater than bread evident; tingling on tongue and roof of the mouth afterward.
M: Light to medium bodied with very persistent carbonation evident. Initially some excess astringency at back end, until warmed.
O: Surpringly light, creamy and crisp. Pleasant, if not overwhelming Wit-like Saison Ale.
