Our Cape of Good Hope, which changes year to year, pays homage to the original style and adventurous spirit of the first British IPAs. This past year’s release, a west coast style double IPA, is brewed with 100% pilsner malt, imparting a subtle maltiness and beautiful golden color. Loaded with hops, there’s Columbus in the kettle and Centennial in the whirlpool. Then it’s dry hopped with El Dorado, Calypso, and Galaxy, resulting in a dry, crisp ale with unmistakable flavors and aromas of tropical fruits.

I hand this bad boy on a handpump at the Hulmeville Inn the way it should be.

Pours a hazy orange color with an intense thick white heading. Left very heavy soapy white ring's all the way down the glass.

Smell has a heavy floral, citrus hoppy aroma that invades the nose at first followed by a nice juicy aroma that pulls through to finish thing's off.

Taste is awesome. Very nice bitterness of hops hits you at first. A toasty biscuit taste barges in for a nice smooth middle then turns to a nice juicy finish. The bitter hoppiness lingeries a little bit but not an overkill.

Mouthfeel is very smooth and bitter. Medium bodied with and amazing sting on the tongue of hop. Very alive feeling on the palate.

This is an excellent beer one of the very best IIPA's I've ever had and very drinkable at 8.10% ABV.
