Two and a half finger's worth of crisp tightly packed head that is slightly off-white in terms of color with a dollop of big chunky bubbles sitting a top... Rock star retention... The color is a vibrant honey hue... A light to moderate bit of carbonation some of which clings to the sides of the glass and some of which rises at a moderate pace throughout... The nose is definitive malt bomb... Loaded with overly ripened dark fruits... Fig... Raisins... There are pleasing notes of toffee and caramel as well... Slightly boozy... Not nearly as sweet as I expected... The malt is tamed by a surprising mix of hops and booziness... Medium to full bodied... Warming booze sensation... Stern carbonation... Just a tiny bit sticky... A bit on the dry side throughout with a big crescendo on the finish... Not a bad beer by any means... Much more reminiscent of an American Barleywine rather than the English style it is listed as... The end result is a solid enjoyable Barleywine that is solidly above average but far from remarkable...

Sampling a cellar temp bottle 750 capped, poured into a snifter. The beer pours a clear amber hue with ruby highlights when the glass is held up to the light. a creamy eggshell white head foams up 3 cm even with a gentle pour. The head does fade to a thin edge layer slowly but the wispy bubbles do stick around throughout the sampling. Aroma is a little boozy and fruity with some white grapes and pears and a bit of bready yeast mixed in. Appealing nose on this one, and fairly complex. I dont really get too much hop profile here.
First sip reveals a fairly thick body with very mild spacious carbonation. Flavor is some grainy malt and bready yeast notes, similar to a scone. The booze is well hidden and the beer drinks amazingly smooth and I would gladly enjoy this one again. The alcohol kicks in by the end of the bottle, but I would gladly enjoy this beer again.

A 750 with no cork and cage. God bless Yards for skipping that pretentious BS.

This was an amber tinted honey color; it poured with a massive, frothy white cap. I smelled toffee, potpourri like fruit, and toffee. Some warmth, but it was mellow and well incorporated.

Mellow flavor profile but it comes together well. Lots of toffee, not sharp or charred. Some spiced fruit and light, lingering bitter astringency. Medium body and overactive carbonation. Really nice b-wine, wish it came in 12 ouncers.

Deep reddish-orange with frothy white head, about a finger and half thick. Good retention.

Light nose of fruits, light caramel, some nuts and toffee. Nothing too powerful, just pleasant.

Medium body, with unimpressive taste. Some fruitiness and light nut flavors , but that's about it. Not much going on here.

Have definitely had better barleywines than this, and trust me, there is better.

A 10.3% barleywine in a 750ml bottle. Well at least I won't feel shorted.

Pours beautifully. This is a mainly malty sweet barleywine with minimal to almost no io influence. Nothing outlandish on the sweetness. Pretty smooth. Not a lot of variance or complexity on the ride though. A quintessential English barleywine. Probably a good one to age for a while.

A beautiful clean honey colored pour with 2 fingers of head.. Excellent retention.. Honestly one of the best looking head I've seen on any beer in a long time. Slow dissipation leads to a very nice creamy drink session. Smells bready, malty, candy sugar sweetness, caramel. The flavor is a bit on par with a nice heavy alcohol dominance up front... Hints of Belgian sugars and plum, very reminiscent of a quad.
Medium to full body with modest carbonation.
This is a very enjoyable drink - and gets even better as it warms up.
