The beer poured dark into a pint glass. Almost completely opaque. A good bit of foam, which was a lighter color than I expected. I couldn't smell anything. There was something there, but it was too faint for me to smell. The taste was good. Strong chocolate. Maybe too strong for some palates, but great for mine. Some cherry notes, a little roasted malt. No alcohol warmth, which for a 6.9% beer is good. I would have preferred a little more malt and roastiness to go with the strong chocolate taste, but since I like chocolate I happily drank the beer. It also had a creamy consistency which was pleasant.

Looks nice-- pours a dark brown almost black chocolate color.
Created a nice long lived head with a tight knit light brown head that eventually combined into the surface of the beer. Laced the walls of the glass.
A mild nose-- with a hops note.
Flavor-- Yards labeled this libation as a Stout-- I'd call it more of a porter than a stout. Has chocolate notes at first but quickly melds into a benign flavor-- has some hops bitterness, toasted malt balancing the hops... but there's nothing particularly notable about the general flavor.
Mouthfeel is mild and smooth finish.
Overall this is a mild flavored and mild mouthfeel stanced beer.
This is a nice stout-- but I'd call it a porter rather than a stout.

Not much chocolate compared to other versions of this style. Priced on the higher end as well. Has a funky, fruity dunkelweisse character which is not what I like in a stout. A stout should have roasted malt upfront and whatever other flavors second, IMHO.

How I miss the glory days of Yard's Love Stout (the first oyster stout) I had ever consumed, it was delicious. Today's standard version is more of a dry Irish, and rather boring stout I'm happy to see a new variation.

Pours a decadent dark black it absolutely absorbs all light, khaki tan head rises above the rim of the chalice. Creamy textured head speckled uneven lacing.

Aroma has milky dark chocolate notes, hints of vanilla beans. Very mellow dark roasted malts the chocolate comes off as powdered chocolate/cocoa.

Surprisingly light in flavor, creamy dark chocolate, roasted malts, hint of vanilla. Flavors are fine but for a big bottled 750 ml release from Yard's I would expect a bit more body and texture and full on flavor. This is just a bit thin, in flavor and body.

Mouthfeel I mentioned a big lighter than I was expecting, medium bodied even carbonation for a big stout in a big bottle it just comes off thin.

Overall, not worth 8.99 a bottle, enjoyable drinking stout but nothing more nothing less.

Look: Dark; about 1 finger of beige foam.

Smell: Roasty; Dark chocolate

Taste: Straight up coffee for me; Maybe a touch of bitter chocolate
at the close.

Feel: Somewhat thin.

Overall: Meh...a coffee-stout for me, that lacks sufficient malt/sweetness
to offset the bitterness. Wouldn't recommend or revisit.
