Had this on cask at Varga Bar.
Pours with a cream colored head on top of a black body. Head is thick and creamy from the hand-pump. Head dissipated to a very thin film and didn't do much with lacing on the glass.
Aroma was predominantly of strong coffee beans and a light waft of chocolate here and there. Very fresh smelling and delicious. Any one who likes coffee would love this aroma, and the dark malts play oh so well with the roasted coffee beans here.
The taste is quite similar to the aroma, with a large hit of espresso, chocolate, mineral qualities underneath and some underlying sweetness. Tasty beer, and a good variation on their near perfect Love Stout.
Creamy mouthfeel, lighter body, natural carbonation, and definitely a nice alternative to standard draft. The beer feels more sessionable with the hand pump.
I really like Yards Love Stout, and the addition of espresso beans here is not a misstep. I find this to have enough coffee aroma and flavor, without covering up the delicious "Oyster Stout" qualities that I love so much about Love Stout. Great job, and beer geeks: seek this one out!
