Bouillon is out there....way down in southeast Belgium off the beaten path. But the town is a really neat town and has an awesome middle-ages castle. The Brasserie De Bouillon is really not much more than a bottle shop that has some really nice regional beers, a good selection and good prices. I am not sure where the Brasserie De Bouillon's beers are actually brewed, but it is not on-site at this location. The beers however, are very tasty and worth a try if you are in this area. Nice triples and blonds make up the selection of the beers I tried from this label....they were all good. Nice place, nice people, great town and worth a stop!

Bouillon is a lovely little tourist town in the Wallonian countryside. The castle on top of the hill is well worth a visit. I sort of lucked out, the Beer bar next door advertized in Tim Webb's guide was closed, in fact just about everything was closed in this town - you could tell this is the off-season - but fortunately, le Marché de Nathalie was open.

This isn't a brewpub, it's a store, and from what I was told, is still the unofficial brewing premises for the Bouillon brewery. So products from this brewery are heavily displayed everywhere. Everything I've had from them was okay, I liked the Godefroy blonde. They had a new one, Atok'ale, made with cranberries from Québec! I brought one back, didn't try it yet. Beers were stocked on wooden shelves in a somewhat lackluster order, and cases were piled here and there on the floor.

As large a selection as I've seen in the area, plenty of Wallonian breweries like Des Fagnes, Du Bocq and Caracole, a few oddballs (most of them from Du Bocq) and plenty of trappists (no Westy).
Suspiciously absent was Fantôme and Mortal's, which is too bad, and slim pickings for lambics, unless you like the sweeter ones. Overall I wouldn't count on this place to do all of my Belgian Beer shopping, but for someone passing through it's totally worth a stop. Tickers or those who look for those goofy Beers with little to no reviews will have a field day here.

What really caught my eye was their breweryana section. Lots of rare glassware, and a whole display case of Orval stuff. I caved in and bought the mirror Orval sign, not really knowing if I would be able to bring it back home intact. Prices were very reasonable across the board, for instance the Montgaillard (oversized Orval glass) was only 50 euros, I've seen it at double that price elsewhere. Beers and glasses were affordable as well. The girl at the register was really nice, gave us a few suggestions and packed my mirror very well.

This one's situated in the center of Bouillon. It's really close to the 'semois' river and there's plenty of parking space nearby, so I'd say the location is quite good.

The shop itself called "Le Marché de Nathalie' and is apparantly affliated with the 'Brasserie de Bouillon'. I haven't visted the brewery itself though, so I'm only reviewing the shop.

the shop looks a bit blend from the outside and once you come in, you see this is just their style. It's more of a mini-supermarket than a traditional beershop, it's not dark, dusty and causy, but that is not necesarily a bad thing.
Their selection is good, but don't expect to find any real rarities here. Except for the home-brewed 'brasserie de Bouillon' beers. (Wich are good in general, but certainly not exceptional) there are probably not too many things you've never seen before.

On the other hand, all the beers were nicely arranged on shelves. None were overdue, none were dusty and prices were very reasonable. I walked out of there with 11 beers for something like 13€. About as expensive as a small supermarket.
The only thing that bothered me a bit was the fact that all the beers stood in the plain light of the many tubes hanging on the ceiling.

All in all though, this is a nice shop that's well worth visiting if you're close ever close to Bouillon.
