Appears a cloudy yellow with light white head and nice scattered lacing.
Smell is of lightly toasted wheat, blended spice, and light bananas.
Taste is of the same blended wheat and spice with a smooth banana flavor floating in the background.
Mouthfeel is smooth and velvety with a nice medium body.
Drinkability is great. Everytime I've had this brew, I've enjoyed it.

Had on tap at Flatbread in North Conway.

A: Served in a pint glass, the beer was a hazy golden color with no head or lacing.

S: Basic hefeweizen aroma, some wheat, a bit of banana, and faint spices.

T: Similar to the aroma, some banana, wheat, a bit of faint earthy hops and some spices - black pepper and coriander.

O: A decent hefe, not bad, but not something I am clamoring to get again.

This is a nice brew. I would say it's nothing fancy, just to style. But the style can be quite fancy.

Light golden pour, murky and full of spice. Thick white head, great lacing.

Typical; banana, clove, floral spices. Wet bread dough underneath

Crisp beer that has all nice things for a hefe. Coriander comes first. The clove and banana later and the dough at the end mixed with dandelion. Somewhat green is what I think of after the sip. Carbonation lifts everything up and out. D'lish

Poured a cloudy medium straw hue with a two finger white foamy head. Good yeast swirl. There was good retention and sticky lacing.

The smell featured a strong banana bread quality. Decent clove spiciness as well.

The taste was very wheaty and yeasty - essentially what a hefe should taste like.

The mouthfeel was full and chewy.

Overall a nice rendition of an authentic hefe. Very drinkable. Well done.

Poured on-tap at the brewery and served in a tumbler pint, the beer is a pale, unfiltered yellow-brown coloring with not a lot of head on the surface. Citrus and bready blend on the nose, with a slight spicing to it. The flavors are clove and banana initially, with a citrus blending at the end. The beer is kept light with the carbonation, giving the brew a frothy, light mouthfeel at the end. Tangy, sweet aftertaste. This is a decent brew.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub on October 9, 2012.

The pour was a cloudy golden pale color with a moderate white head.

The aroma was full of wheat, yeast, a little citrus zing, and even a slight pepper note. It was rather tempting.

The body fell into the light to medium range.

The taste had a wonderfully warming wheat character that seemed to evolve in a positive way as it warmed up. The finish was clean and satisfying.

A guest tap at The Portsmouth Brewery. Very pleasant beer. Served in a pint glass, it was a cloudy apricot color with a thick white head that quickly dissipated. Sweet fruit aroma, a little grain. Banana taste, a little bit of citrus. A refreshing beer, quite drinkable.

Appearance: bright yellow in color, minimal head, cloudy

Smell: banana, orange, and clove

Taste: bananas, clove, wheat, and a bit of orange

Mouthfeel: medium bodied, medium-low carbonation, sweet

Drinkability: By far my favorite of the beers I had at Moat Mt. I could session this as it goes down way too easy. Slightly complex for the style.

Hoffman pours a medium-golden color, and was fairly clear for the style. Head was thin and white, with a bit of wispy lacing. Nose, though a bit mild, showed banana notes and a touch of a spicy/yeasty character. Body was about medium, with the typical bubbly/prickly Hefe- feel on the tongue. Flavor had a nice spicy aspect, with a wheaty crispness to it. Banana was there, though not overwhelming, as well as a nice clove hit. A touch yeasty as well, and finishes dry with minimal aftertaste. Good Bavarian-style offering. Prosit!!

Draught @ Brewpub: This one pours a murky, darker golden color. There was not much of a head on it, or any lacing. A tart citrus nose is predominate. Some wheat notes. The taste is good. It has a tart citrus/lemon flavor, as well as some wheat. Nice body. A keeper.

Cloudy, lemon custard yellow. Came adorned with a thin skim ring. I've always had presentation problems here and I don't know if it's the brewer or that the bartender's just don't know how to pour a beer here but I'm going to go with that latter.

Aroma as a nice wheat character that reminds me of eggs and hash. Mild acidic twang. Tastes of light lemon (I don't know if it was supposed to be there or if it dripped in from the lemon that was rimmed on my glass) and light cloves. No banana though which I was hoping for.

Kind of a mix of an American and German wheat. It has the light, airy character of an American wheat but the subtle clove of a German heff. Nice work.

Moat Mountain is one of NH's most underrated breweries by the way.

Yellow amber color and a healthy and loose white head rises fast with vigor and falls slow. She stays around without rambling too fast.

The aroma is classic hefe with sour and herbal green veggies maybe too much sour that seems like vinigar. Green banana and spices with mildly sweet red fruits too.

The flavor brings a vinegar and herbal banana flavor from the yeast and hops. Corriander with cloves and a sweet fruity malt all in decent balance. Feels lush slightly dry and refreshing.

This traveled well to my house of more than 60 miles away combating seasonal potholes and Tiberius bumps along the way so there's bonus points for that.

Pours a cloudy dark orange-tan, topped with a two finger white head. Leaves behind webs of lacing.
Yeasty aroma, banana, clove, herbs and a touch of vanilla, but mainly clove.
A bit sweet, clove again is strong in the taste, banana, wheat and grass round it out.
Light bodied, and easy to drink, but the clove got to be too much for me.
