Pours an extremely dark brown, almost black, with some lighter red highlights around the edges when held up to the light, much like a Guinness. A slow cascade leads to a bubbly two-finger tan head that fades slowly to a thin cap and sticky ring. Pretty good lacing left behind.
Wow! You cannot mistake the vanilla bean in this one. Huge notes of vanilla along with coffee beans and a hint of milk chocolate. The nose subsides a bit as the head fades.
Taste starts slightly sweet with vanilla and milk chocolate flavors, before giving way to some lightly roasted coffee beans and a slightly acrid coffee finish.
Medium-bodied, smooth and creamy mouthfeel. A bit more body would make this one perfect.
Near perfect drinkability; one is definitely not enough. Get up to the Moat before this is all gone, and tell Will to brew this again and again. Definitely one of the best from the Moat to date.
