My girlfriend and I were in town for the Mt. Washington Road Race. (Yes, crazy people actually run up the 7.5 mile mountain once a year.) We drove by this place a few times before finally deciding to give it a try. It looked like it was a biker bar because there was some motorcylce rally in town. I don't think it's normally like this.

We weren't expecting much from the plain exterior and rudimentarly interior, but the place actually knocked our socks off! They invested their time and money in the food and beer instead of the dirt parking lot and run down building.

They had a porter, stout, brown ale, pale ale, weiss, lager, and pilsner when I was there. Everything tasted especially fresh and crisp. In my experience there is usually one beer at a brewpub that is a stinker. In the case, I had low expectations for the pilsner - but it was great! It was sort of humorous listening to the folks at tables nearby. Everyone was "oooohingg" and "aaaahhhing" about the beer. I can't tell you how many times I overheard people saying, "you gotta try this one..."

Food also was excellent. We had Ribs and Blackened Catfish. I have NEVER tasted catfish so good. I would drive the three hours back to this place for the catfish alone.

Go there, you won't be disappointed.

I visited this place with two friends the other day. The atmosphere is decent with witty beer-related posters on the walls and a casual feel. We ate at the bar.

The food menu was well-designed but I do wish they had a more comprehensive beer menu. I was confused as to what I could actually take home in growlers/bombers/cans because of a chalkboard sign that had 3 beers listed. I learned that you could actually take home more than that but not until after my friend did so.

Service wasn't anything to write home about. The servers seemed more interested in chatting it up with regulars than bringing us our checks or more beers. To be fair, they had just opened and it was slow-paced at the time. Despite this, our servers were very friendly and this made up for whatever shortcomings they had.

They had a lot of beer that they could serve. The only problem as I mentioned is the beer menu. They could adopt a chalkboard above the bar somehow with each beer listed. Just a thought. I did find it refreshing that they had a helles lager, a czech pilsner and a fairly decent old-school IPA on tap. It's a refreshing change from establishments that are dominated by hops.

The food was excellent. The bun for my burger could have been a better quality but other than that, no complaints. I tend to keep it simple anyway when I eat at brewpubs.

I would recommend that you check out Moat Mountain. It's in a beautiful scenic area not too far from the Attitash ski area.

A.. The bar looks cozy and warm. Had the family so we are in the dining area which is a bit standard.

Q.. Great brew restaurant.

S.. The service was excellent. Attentive, conscientious, and knowledgable staff.

S.. Nice variety all around with some unique takes on standard fare (eg the Mexican nachos are spread out on a flat cookie sheet with cheese an black beans, fixings on the side).

F.. Yup, I think the food is damn near perfect. They do a great smokehouse flavor on some of their foods (eg had a burger with steakhouse sauce and it was incredibly).

V.. Very competitive pricing when you consider the overall great quality. The Bill was less than expected and we would have willingly paid more for the experience. In fact we took the family back for lunch two days later.
