Updated review based on a follow up visit where service was exceptional - got a couple of Founder's 4 packs pulled "from the back."

The more beer stores I visit, the more apparent it becomes that Kahn's has one of the finest collection of Belgian's and domestics that are accessible in Indiana.

I made a $219 stock-up stop at Kahn's while in town on business. It's a bit trickey to get to from the Interstate but it's on the south east side of the Broad Ripple village area which is home to Brugge and The Broad Ripple Brewpub (two unique/characteristic brewing spots in Indy).

I used to live around the corner and am a bit dissapointed with the cookie cutter feel of the new facility. The old location is a block or two north on the same side of the street and had a cool art deco front to it.

My objective was to pick up FFF which I can't get in Ohio along with any others that caught my eye. Here is my receipt...

4 pack Witkap Singel $17.99
4 pack Witkap Abbey Triple $18.99
4 pack St. Bernadus Watou Tripel $13.99
6 pack FFF Pride and Joy $10.99
6 pack FFF Gumballhead $10.99 (2 of these)
6 pack Dark Horse CT IPA $9.99
6 pack Dark Horse Sapient Tripel $10.99
4 pack Dark Horse Oatmeal Stout $8.49
4 pack Dark Horse Fore Smoked Stout $8.49
2 12 oz Goose Island Bourbon County Stout $10.98
750 ml UniBroue 16th $8.99
750 ml UniBroue 15th $8.99
750 ml UniBroue Quelque Chose $10.99
750 ml De Glazen Toren Jan De Lichte $11.99
11 oz De Regenboog Vuuve $3.99
22 oz FFF Behemoth Barley Wine $17.99
22 oz FFF Rabbid Rabbit Saison $10.99

The $10.99 for Gumballhead seemed a bit much, but my wife loves it. I was surprised to see the UniBroue and am anxious about the quality (did they store it properly?) (1,711 characters)

Great selections of beers here with many quality events and tastings. I appreciate their efforts on social media, announcing new arrivals and restocks. One complaint is that they seem to hold things back for favorite customers at the expense of others. I rushed over once after they announced on twitter the arrival of a special release. I was there in about 45 minutes but was told I missed it by 15 minutes (no problem). Frustratingly, 2 guys walked in 10 minutes later and each received 2 bottles out of the back. Guess I didn't know the secret handshake. (564 characters)

Personally I don't use BA very much, but I do like good beer. Kahn's without a doubt is the best beer/wine store I have found in Indiana in the 12 plus years I have lived here. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I recently attending their GI Bourbon County release and even though the turnout was much higher that expected, and the supply of beer was down, they did a wonderful job of meeting the needs of the vast majority of people that made the journey. Kudos to Jim, Al, Will, Paul and the rest for pulling this off. (531 characters)

I will go better than best store in Indy this may be the best store in the state.

As others have said or atleast im guessing they have, if Indiana gets it Kahn's is gonna have it.
If its a very limited release your best chance at getting it is probably gonna be here.

The Staff is great all very friendly and some of the most craft beer, wine, and spirit educated people you are gonna find here..build a relationship with these guys and you wont regret it! and you may get a nice surprise every now and then! (510 characters)

Best beer store I've been to in Indy.

Selection is great. From local micro to global imports, a very wide selection. If it is available in Indiana, these guys are getting it.

Nice and clean. Very large selection, not only of beer, but also wine, liquor, cheese, etc.

Wine and beer tasting available on certain days.

A small cracker, relish, and cheese selection. Not a restaurant.

There are knowledgable employees waiting to answer your questions or help you find something. The guys patrolling the beer section are constantly, and I mean that literally, re-stocking every beer they have. They know when beers are due for release, what's new and just in, and will have several great suggestions based on your preferences.

If you are in the Indy area and looking for good beer, this should be your first stop. (825 characters)
