A golden/orange color and cloudy body greet the consumer upon first pour of this beer. The nose is one of spices and citrus. The foam level is slight and settles down quickly.
This ale offers up flavors of wheat malt, oranges, coriander, and caramel. Upon further examination, I was able to pick up on flavors of honey and there are other citrus notes and spices in the background. A little bit of yeast flavor rounds out the tasting. The body of the beer is creamy and medium in weight and there is a somewhat alcoholic presence in the flavor but it fades quickly.
Whitsun ale is a good beer with a good deal of complexity going on inside its hazy body. There is some sediment in each bottle so don’t be alarmed if you pour and discover a few floaters in your glass. This is expected and while it may not make for a perfect appearance, it doesn’t adversely affect the taste in any way.
I love a great wheat beer and this one is a pretty good one overall. It isn’t the greatest I have ever tried but there is enough artisan craftsmanship and good taste to keep me coming back for more.

Appearance: very nice golden color, about a half inch head, hazy.
Aroma: definitely smells like a wheat beer with hints of orange and honey. Pleasant, but nothing too special.
Taste: a little spicy (coriander) with some orange notes, slight bitter finish
Overall: definitely great for summer. It is a great choice if you want a wheat beer similar to Blue Moon but want to switch it up!

I really enjoy showing this beer to people who like Oberon, which is how it was presented to me as well. I think the flavor components are very similar so it is an easy transition, but to me, this as a slightly sharper flavor, which i tend to enjoy .

Appearance: Very thin layer of head, slight orange color.
Smell: Has a very strong orange smell, not too many other smells that I pick up.
Taste: There is a strong orange, bitter taste. Pretty smooth with a slight spiciness.
Overall: I really enjoy this beer and is a nice change of pace from IPAs i have been drinking as of recently. Its somewhat light but has a nice orange taste, not over the top.
Serving type: bottle
Poured into a pint glass
