his strikingly authentic English-style pale ale is brewed with all-English malts and a pound and a half of Pacific Northwest hops per barrel. It is medium-bodied, crisp and well-balanced with a flavor profile featuring subtle notes of caramel, toffee and toasted malt, counterbalanced by the ideal level of hop bitterness. The delicate herbal hop finish is produced by Goldings whole leaf hops.

Poured into an English pint glass, the appearance was a burnt dark copper color with a thin foamy finger’s worth of head. Slowly fell off to leave some stringy lace. The aroma had some herbal to floral hop qualities flowing into a light biscuit-like malt base. Light toast and leather play with the caramel malt base. The flavor was moderately sweet with a sturdy leafy dryness to slide into the aftertaste and cling in the finish. The feel was almost medium bodied but sat just a tad underneath. Some carbonation was felt but nothing to distract from the style. ABV felt appropriate. Overall, I’d say pretty good English pale ale that I could have again but also probably would be better on cask and would most likely even be better with some fish n’ chips.

Poured into a pint glass from a bottle. Pours copper red with a excessive large head. Smells of grassy hops. Tastes of earthy and grassy hops with a decent grain profile. Beer is light bodied and very easily drinkable with above average carbonation. Overall, a slightly above average beer.

Cask drawn into a goblet. Nice hazy dark straw color with a foamy head. Served a bit colder than anticipated for a call ale.
Flavor was nice for a pale ale, nothing spectacular but a fine beer for a nice afternoon's drink.
