On tap at Flying Saucer in KC served in tulip glass.
Hazy amber body with one finger white lacing, slowly dissipating head. Big (not huge) hop presence in the nose, with a nice balance of multiple sweet malts and resiny hop presence balanced with a trifle of hop sweetness on the taste buds. Alcohol is very noticeable, and a bit cloying, this certainly is more of a sipper than a session beer. I was a bit surprised by the overt alcohol kick and relative malty sweetness compared to other DIPA. I'm glad I tried it, worth seeking out for the traveling BA, but not top-shelf in this demanding category

Pours a dark ruby brown with a finger of creamy off white head. Smells nice - piney, resin, citrus. Drinks easy for the high abc - nice hop profile nicely balanced with some malts int he back end. This is a really solid DIPA that I will definitely be trying again. Note - want to try this with a more recent production date as the brew I tried had a born on date of October and I'm reviewing this in March. I Have to think that compromised the IPA a bit and It drank really well anyway.
