By *far* the largest, angriest, densest and most beautiful head I've ever seen on an IPA. This stuff is epic. Pours a murky ruddy amber, with tinged with gold. Eggshell-white foam just explodes on a pour, and will not go down. I ended up sucking up most of the foam just to get to the beer before it reached room temperature.
Smells of pine trees, cedar, and a hint of grapefruits. Not very strong, but pleasant.
The hops are amazingly subdued in this. I was expecting a lot more bite, but it seems like they've either aged and mellowed, or were mostly used for bittering. A nice, light almost sourdough malt flavor wafts over the tongue, before a hint of grapefruit slides along your mouth. Creamy and surprisingly smooth. The carbonation is a bit subdued; surprising given the amount of head released from the gentlest of pours.
This stuff is smooth and light enough to be sessionable if it weren't for the 8% ABV. Two thumbs up!
Thanks goes to Gaisgeil for this fantastic brew!

Pours a dark ruby brown with a finger of creamy off white head. Smells nice - piney, resin, citrus. Drinks easy for the high abc - nice hop profile nicely balanced with some malts int he back end. This is a really solid DIPA that I will definitely be trying again. Note - want to try this with a more recent production date as the brew I tried had a born on date of October and I'm reviewing this in March. I Have to think that compromised the IPA a bit and It drank really well anyway.
