This spiced amber-wheat ale is our celebration of the arrival of Autumn. Using the finest malted barley and a small amount of wheat for mouthfeel, Jaw-Jacker displays a brilliant orange-amber color, despite the absence of pumpkin in the recipe. The addition of cinnamon, all-spice, and nutmeg (in the exact proportions of a family pumpkin pie recipe) creates a refreshingly spicy, season brew.

Orange in color, tan medium to covering collar with carbonation and some lacing. Slightly sweet aroma. Burnt qweet taste that lingers into a bitter taste.

Look: Crystal clear orange/burnt orange coloring, a white-ish head that is comprised of numerous small bubbles that dissipates within a few minutes to leave lacing around the edge of the glass.

Smell: Strong enough that you can smell it outside of the glass, it is reminiscent of a fall candle with things like cinnamon, clove, nutmeg etc... like you would imagine a fall day to smell.

Taste: Bitter, spice forward beer when it hits your tongue. You get all the fall candle smells as flavors that I mentioned above. Offset by a brown sugar like sweentess on the backend.

Feel: Soft carbonation, noticable enough to know that it's there but not overbearing. Medium-light body. Bitterness clings to the tongue but the rest of it goes down pretty smoothly.

Overall: A powerfully scented, decent tasting fall beer. Way more spice than a pumpkin pie, but that's ok. Probably wouldn't seek out but also if someone gave me one I would not turn it down.

Smells hoppy but taste not too bad, first sip was full of pumpkin and spice. Not as prominent the rest of the bottle.

Pours an amber color with a minimal tan head that disappears quickly. Aroma is pumpkin and spices. Tastes of cinnamon and pumpkin. Creamy mouth feel.

Poured into a clear mug, the appearance was a dark orange milky brown color with a muted quickly dieing little white foamy head that barely left any lace.
The aroma had a nice balance of spices such as nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon and clove up front pummeling the pumpkin sweetness back a little bit. Mild little bit of sweet earthy to mild caramel sweet extract.
The flavor leaned towards the spiciness initially and then seemed to try and develop a mild sweetness in it's balance. Aftertaste was somewhat leaning into the spices, slight sting of the clove, but I wasn't bothered by that.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied; perhaps just a touch under with a fair decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt on par. Some spices in the finish.
Overall, with the onset of the spices in this beer, I'd say this definitely leans closer to the "herbed/spiced beer" than a true pumpkin ale, but still, it's one that I'd have again if I could get it.

Orange and cloudy, no visible carbonation, topped with two fingers of beige head.

Smells of pumpkins, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and cloves.

Tastes of pumpkins, cloves, cinnamon, and ginger with a light sweetness.

Medium, tannic body with relatively high carbonation.

Got this in Kunming in April, drinking Nov. 2nd, 2017 in Chiang Mai. Cheers to my friends in Kalamazoo. Really great pumpkin ale!
