Bottle to tulip. Looks good; a deep, opaque burnt-orange. Smells good too; floral and citrus. Taste is decent, but not anything special. Could be an old bottle though. Pretty bitter, and not in the most pleasant way. Mouthfeel suffers from the bitterness on the palate too. Overall, pretty overpriced for what it is (which usually isn't the case with Arcadia).

Great to try this brew from my old stomping grounds, poured a slight hazed peach-like color with a thinner but well sustained white head.Lighter aromas for such a big hopped up brew I picked up some citrus and tangerine aromas with a hint of caramel malt, very fresh tasting with a good hop punch but it leans in the fruit side of a flavor profile.Overripe peaches and tangerine flavors with a little citric sting overtop of sweet biscuit malt,it goes down way to easy for its listed ABV.A nice change of pace DIPA and dangerously drinkable.

Pours a dark amber-orange color with a quickly dispersing white head. The beer looks and pours quite thick. The aroma is very hoppy, full of citrus and pine. The first sip hits you with a pretty sharp bite - very warm and spicy. Big mix of peppercorns, spices, and heavy, dank, hop resin. Slight rubbing alcohol aroma comes out as the beer continues. Some sweeter malts come out at the finish along with more citrus, but the beer leaves a very bitter taste on the tongue. Medium carbonation, and a thick, gritty body.

Very harsh, even for a 9% ABV, the "alcohol" taste is too prominent. Very "spicy" and not so much smooth. Gets worse as the beer gets warmer. I was slightly disappointed in this one, I had much higher expectations. Not my tastes.

Poured a 12oz bottle into a Goose Island IPA glass.

Apperance- great, pale orange with a quarter inch off-white head.

Aroma- bursting with bright grapefruit and tropical fruit notes(pineapple, tangerine). Great showcase of American hops.

Taste- More of the same, with great citrus(think hopslam meets maharaja). Not a lot of malty notes but doesn't affect the balance.

Drinkability- The finish has a fair amount of bitterness from the hops and alcohol but remains quite drinkable. I could drink a few of these. It's underrated in my town.

12 ouncer, that came is a costly ($15 and change) FOUR pack! Shesh...this one poured semi cloudy dark honey/apricot amber, medium tan low lying head, leaving fine and scattered lacing. Fruity and pleasant hop filled nose. Full flavor brew, moderate under coat of sweet malt, dominated by a better then average hop assault. Grainy, resiny and at the same time flowery hop jolt quite evident and carry the freight here. Pleasant to my hop loving tastes. Nicely done, the only factor that will keep me from enjoying plenty more of this stuff is the price.

12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip glass. The beer is a cloudy amber color, but seems to clear up after a while. Sizable, bone-white head which fades pretty quickly. This brew leaves behind no shortage of beautiful lacing as you drink.

Nose does not disappoint the hoppy expectations. Strong influence of candied pineapple and citrus. To smell this beer is really a treat. No sign of alcohol, just sweet, delicious fruit.

There is a lot of hop flavor packed into this brew for sure. Pine resin up front; then apple and very sweet candied pineapple... for a second in the middle, you almost forget that you are drinking a beer. The fruit flavors just that powerful... but before you have time to make yourself at home, it punches you in the face with delicious bitterness again. The finish is crazy bitter and dry and stays on your tongue forever! In short, it's everything you would expect from a beer with a moniker like this. No sign of malt in the flavor. The extreme dryness and bitterness hurt the drinkability, but the mouthfeel is smooth and light, which helps it go down.

Can I be real for one second? I mean, really real? This might be the most bitter beer I've ever tasted. I actually love Arcadia's DIPAs. Hopmouth is also amazing...maybe a little better than this one. IMO, I think it's what they do best. I would have this beer again, but I don't know if I would necessarily seek it out. It's great if you're looking for a hop fix, though, that's for sure.

From bottle, has an area for date notching, but I guess the machine missed this one as nothing is marked.

Pour is dark golden orange, off white head forms and then quickly fizzles out. Appears a little flat, no lacing or carbonation bubbles.

I'm not liking the aromas on this one, pure skunk weed pureed with onions and booze. No citrus presence what so ever, really off putting.

As with the nose, literally tastes like I'm liking the side of a hill. Just overwhelming grass with overbearing alcohol presence on top of it. No balance what so ever, the malt backbone is completely missing in action, as is any lemon and grapefruit. Has a really unpleasant after taste that lingers around as well.

Pretty full bodied, but rather flat with a syrupy consistency. Just not an easy drinker.

I'm only three sips in but I don't think I'll be able to stomach this one, probably a drain pour. Maybe chalk it up to a bad bottle, but I don't think I'll ever trade for another one to really find out.

Pours a light orangey brown with about a half inch of head. The head dissapaes quickly leaving a light residue around the rim of the glass. The aroma us overwhelmingly hoppy with little else evident other than the nose smashing hoppiness. The taste is very boozey with a crude ultra-sweet taste that is quickly tossed to the rear by the massive hop bitterness. The initial sweetness is somewhat hard to get past and doesn't improve the beer at all. Some DIPA's are balanced, this seems like t tries to be more balanced, but instead has warrinf parts malt and hops.

A pure white head grows to a finger and a half over a cloudy, deep burnt orange-colored brew. It sits for awhile and settles to a heavy foam, leaving good lacing behind on the glass.
There's some fruitiness in the aroma, a fresh, raw hops bouquet offering citrus and herbal qualities as well as a leafiness. Malts are also evident, adding a bit of caramel. Alcohol sneaks in a bit and lingers. A bit of yeast, but not too much to be off-putting, is also detectable.
The flavor is where everything opens up. This is definitely a DIPA; not a tongue-numbing, overly abrasive one, but just as hoppy and flavorful as the great ones. Malts offer great support for excellent balance, offering some caramel sweetness while still allowing the hops to be showcased as the main feature. Lots of ripe fruits (apricot, etc.) come out under citrus and herbal flavors. A leafy greenness is also present through every sip. It's raw but refined, and fresh. There's something like spruce tips as well and just a touch of mint. Alcohol is evident without taking over or distracting. I would never suspect 9 %.This is a great beer.
The mouthfeel remains lively and active, opting for crispness but not denying a smooth flow. The body is medium. It leans dryer heading into the finish.

Arcadia- Hop Rocket

A- Hazy bright orange with a huge frothy head. Good messy lacing.
S- Light cremy caramel/ butter malt with a sweetened citrus aroma.
T- Creamy malt up front and center; hints of vanilla, caramel, and shortbread. Sugar sweetened citrus hops (grapefruit and nectarine) appear early but make up the back end.
M- Very thick and creamy with a touch of slick butter. Hops are sweetened and not bittering. Alc. makes this 1 warming but never overpowers. Very crisp feeling.

Overall- Sweet and easy to drink, but the flavors seem a bit subdued?!

12oz bottle, served in a standard pint glass.

A - pours with an inch of frothy very light tan colored foam, sitting atop a clear burnt golden liquid. minimal sticky lacing comes and goes throughout the drink.

S - tropical - mangos, pineapple, grapefruit...hops joined by a solid amount of sweet caramel malt.

T - very sweet, hops again come across in the citrus profile, some pine as well. solid amount of malt adds a lot of balance, almost a tad too much. still plenty bitter, just done with some grace and charm. just a barely noticeable alcohol burn as well.

M - very thick body, carbonation is subtle yet tight. very creamy and goes down smooth, leaves a lingering pine and caramel aftertaste.

D - very solid, though not quite as good as it was out of a cask. a stereotypical East Coast DIPA with a ton of malt to match the hops. pretty dangerous for the ABV, goes down easy.

By just looking at the bottle, even smelling and drinking this hoppy ale, you would think it is just a very nice IPA. Pacific Northwestern hops, nice mouthfeel. Golden amber with large white head and leaving lace lines. Well malted and fairly balanced for a DIPA.Alcohol warming. Premiere Gourmet.
