poured from 12oz bottle into standard pint glass. No bottled date that I could find, though there was an unnotched area on the side of the label with A-G, 1-6

Poured a cloudy orange amber color, with thin head, however the head did retain throughout. Very minimal lacing. Any carbonation was impossible to detect due to the bodies cloudiness.

Smell was all sweet, booze, and malts. Unable to detect any hop smell at all. This one may be past it's prime.

Taste, well this gets a bit tricky. It wasn't completely unpleasant, just not what I bargained for. No hop taste all all, came off almost barleywine-ish (hah, a new word!) quite warming and sweet. If it was a cold winters day, I might enjoy it, just not in the dog days of August.

Mouth was slightly syrupy, as you might expect. No tingling sensations at all. Some sweet caramel.

Overall, a bit of a disappointment. If you reach for something called Hop Rocket, you expect to find at least some hop signature, even if it were 6 months from bottling date. (Which is impossible to tell when the brewery doesn't date the bottle). Would be interesting to try one fresh out of the brewery. And it might be interesting to try one after cellaring for a year, though surely better options are available for that.

Served in a flared pokal at Bliss.

Is that a Hop Rocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me? Regardless, this stuff pours a clear auburn topped by a finger of off-white foam. The nose comprises sweet caramel, mild ruby red grapefruit zest, greens, and a bit of sweet flowers. The taste brings in more of the same, with a balance mostly being maintained throughout, though the caramel, joined by a bit of buttery biscuit, wins out in the end. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a dry finish. Overall, a decent DIPA, but not one that really excites me in any way.

A: Glass consuming display of micro-effervesce fills a tarnished orange body that had a slight misty haze to it. A cream colored 1 inch head shows resilience while providing a sheet coat lacing.

S: Sweetened grapefruit, flowery citrus, but the strength leans on the lighter side. Flat complexity no spark of interest.

T: Flavor had a good level of hop induction, dry toastiness, and dry citrus. The ibu's come on strong particularly on the finish. Some bright wet lemony notes interject at the start while a dry hopping of lemon finishes out with a hint of dried lime.

M: toasty warm with a specialty malt base and a noticeable mention of alcohol. The alcohol is fairly well hidden except on longer more savoring holds.

O: Big dry hop blast ends with a sturdy amount of specialty grain depth. pretty decent with exception of weak nose.

A - Pours a hazy copper with a thin white head. Nice amount of sticky lacing.

S - Nose has a nice mix of piney hops and sweet citrus.

T - Starts off sweet with a nice mix of citrus and heavy caramel malts. Hops really come through in the finish. The alcohol is noticeable throughout.

M - Medium bodied with low carbonation. Sticky syrupy mouthfeel.

O - A decent DIPA. Definetly worth trying.
