Been awhile since I've purchased an Arcadia product because their beers never much wowed me. 6 pack of this one, after I had seen it in bombers, was a little bit of a gamble.
[A] Sky high pours a somewhat lagery looking gold color. Beer is somewhat hazy, with a white head that recedes into a soapy ring atop the glass. Upon close inspection, there is miniscule sediment suspended throughout the beer. I'm thinking my pale ales are usually much clearer than this. 3/3.5
[S] My first impression of the nose on this beer was actually "Wow!". Contains a good amount of caramel and fruity esters, mixed with a dose of PNW pine and citrus. Rye, if at all, plays a subtle earthy note, and maybe spices the hops up a little bit. 8/4
[T] Where it matters: The beer begins with a rye bread, caramel, and zesty fruity taste. The malt doesn't really have time to set in before a spicy hop bite works its way into the palate. Yet finishing more caramel. Think this is in pretty good balance in the long rung. 8/4
[M] Finishes VERY dry and bitter. Lively body. Slightly prickly. Thin, and possibly a tad over carbed. As an APA, the hops on this almost become astringent; but I do enjoy them in the spotlight here. 4/3.5
[D] I could see myself having quite a few of these on a cold fall evening. Slightly reminiscent of New Belgium's Hoptober, but there are still significant differences. 4
[O] The gamble paid off. Can't ask much more from this beer for a 6er at the price. Not extremely intricate, but definitely satisfies its requirements. I personally prefer the artwork on the 12 oz bottles over the bomber. I think it would be a great move for Arcadia to step away from their poor, clashy, cartoonish style labels. 15

Pours a medium golden with a lingering, frothy ivory head.
Aroma is slightly soapy, peppery, and rye spicy.
Flavor reveals floral hops, with a bitter, peppery, finish. The malt backbone is lightly toasted, with sweet hints of caramel.
Though rye spiciness is evident, it doesn't overpower. Very drinkable.

I poured a can into a pint glass.
Appearance- Slightly hazy golden color with two fingers worth of foamy head. The heads lingers for a few minutes then slowly fades to a half inch cap and leaves a fair amount of lacing.
Smell- Grapefruit hop aroma with a hint of spiciness.
Taste- Moderate grapefruit and grassy hop bitterness with some rye spiciness and a hint of caramel malt sweetness. It has just enough of a hop presence for flavor but not so much as to be overpowering. The slight spiciness and sweetness add a nice twist.
Mouthfeel- Medium bodied with an average amount of carbonation. Crisp with a dry finish.
Overall- A good thirst quenching beer. This is one of the better rye beers that I've tried and worth having again.

Appearance: An impressive pour, with a foamy meringue of a head that squats atop the cloudy goldenstraw colored liquid
Smell: Gently spicy with a hint of lemon
Taste: Opens biscuity, with a citrusy mix of lemon and white grapefruit developing; in the middle, the peppery and spicy tones from the rye take the beer in another direction; a hint of sweetness underneath
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: I found myself pleasantly surprised by this beer; the rye was handled deftly and added a nice angle to the other tones

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a nice golden amber color with a one finger head of white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving a decent leave of foam on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is light overall with some hints of a mainly a bready smell along with a bit of a citrus hoppy smell. Some other light peppery rye smalls are there as well with just a hint of pine.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready and light rye taste mixed with a tangerine sweetness and some grapefruit upfront. There is a little bit of caramel that is later lost as it is buried by more citrus tangerine and grapefruit hop. All the while the rye builds a bit with it bringing along with it some lighter hop flavors of pine. In the end, with the bittering of the grapefruit hop and the moderateness of the rye flavors, one is left with a somewhat moderately fruity, bready rye, and decently bittered grapefruit hop taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the slightly lower side. Both are rather nice for the mix of rye bread flavors as well as the hops and makes for a nice easy drinker.
Overall – A rather easy drinking sweeter and more moderate rye brew. A nice one to try if you get a chance.
