Bottle opened on 3.2.13

A - Pours a hazy pale, light orange with a small off-white head that lingers a long time.

S - Citrusy and tropical fruit, some light wheat as well.

T - Citrus, floral, wheat, sourdough bread.

D - Good carbonation with a light body.

O - Older than it should be, but still a pretty good beer. Light and citrusy still.

Worded as an IPA, but thankfully listed as an APA. Hoppy aroma. e felt in the finish, and lends it orange citrus flavour. Good drinkability, easy drinking so that I could finish the bomber. Bottle from recent trip to Champane Cellars. Middling mouthfeel.

Poured into a pint glass
A: Gentle pour yields 2 fingers of off-white rocky head with great retention. Hazy straw-brass liquid. Good looking, a tad too much head - I finger is ideal.
S: Mostly noble herbal smelling hops. Slight metallic, slight bread. Nice almost pilsener-like. A bit more diversity would be nice.
T: Bright and herbally bitter. Very pilsener-like. Clean. Faint esters are breathy, not warm though. They are the only sign of this being an ale. Quite bitter - IPA levels. Like a czech IPA. Very unique! Hop profile leaves a tad soapy aftertaste. :-(
M: Dry and expectorant. Not thin.
O: Enjoyable. I'd order another and buy again. As good as Daytime and better than Prolonged Enjoyment. The predominantly noble hops character proves to be one-dimensional and does grow old.

I had several samples and took notes on Arcadia's The Big Finish Ale on tap at a beer fest in Frankenmuth. The brewery rep said that this was a hoppy Golden Ale, so lets see how it goes. Poured on tap into a 4oz plastic boot.

A- This beer poured a golden yellow color with one and half fingers worth of creamy white head that died down to a thin layer that stayed till the end and left some nice rings of lacing. This was a good looking beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a good amount of hops that imparts a nice mixture of hoppy flavors, there's some citrus, pineapple, and mango with some floral hops and towards the end some grassy aromas come out along with some spicy hops aroma. Up next I get a slight amount of spicy yeast followed by some light malt aromas that impart a nice sweet, bread, and biscuit like aromas. The aroma was nice, it had a unique hop aroma that I liked.

T- The taste seems to be pretty similar to the aroma, it starts off with a pretty good amount of hops that impart all those nice hoppy aspects that I got in the aroma with the spicy and citrus hops sticking out the most. Up next comes the malts which have a slightly higher amount of medium sweetness and impart some light bread and cracker flavors followed by a light amount of slightly spicy yeast. It had a lighter amount of medium sweetness with a sweet, slightly bread, and citrus hops aftertaste. I thought this was a good tasting beer that had lots of nice hoppy flavors without being overly bitter.

M- Fairly smooth, on the dry side, medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel worked well with this beer.

Overall I liked this beer and I thought that it was a nice and unique example of the style, the hop combination in this beer was nicely done and it had a unique aroma and taste that make it memorable. This beer has good drinkability, it went down smooth and the hoppy flavors kept me interested while not being overly bitter, I could see drinking a few of these on a warm day. What I liked most about this beer was that it was unique and memorable, with so many hoppy beers on the market this doesn't happen too often. What I liked least about this beer was nothing, there wasn't really anything that I would change about this beer besides making it much more available. I would buy this again especially if it is bottled. All in all I thought that this was another quality beer from Arcadia, it really stuck out to me as having a different hop aspect to it which is nice. Good job guys, this is for sure one worthy hoppy golden ale.
