Pilsner was first made back in 1842 by the Bohemians. They used special pale malt and an abundance of hops to create a delicious, golden beer. Up here at Creemore Springs we fire-brew our pilsner the same traditional way, using only four natural ingredients starting with our own clear flowing spring water. It’s eminently drinkable, and always refreshing. Classic yet unique; it’s our fresh take on a traditional Czech pilsner.

Serving Type - 473ml Can poured into a pilsner glass

Appearance - Pours a crystal clear golden/straw coloured with 2 fingers of bright white foamy head which dissipates fairly quickly. A small bit of carbonation is visible. Next to no lacing i left behind.

Smell - Sweet grains are most predominant. I also detect some wet grass and a faint 'hoppy' smell.

Taste - Lot's of grains here as well. Pilsner malt features in a big way. Hop bitterness is light but balances nicely with the rest of the beer.

Mouthfeel - Clean and crisp and exceptionally dry finish. Lot's of carbonation and light body.

Re-reviewing this beer. 473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. Purchased from the LCBO for $2.80 CDN.

Appearance - rich golden color, with bubbles aplenty and a finger and a half of frothy white head. Good retention time and some trace elements of lacing left around the rim of the glass. Crystal clear too.

Smell - grainy aroma with a small dose of grass and flower blend. Nothing unusual but with a Czech Pilsner, would you really expect there to be? Also sweet bready aromatics.

Taste - breach and yeasty as compared to others in the style and a fairly sharp crispness to the bread and grain flavours. Very refreshing on a hot summers day.

Mouthfeel - well carbonated and slightly dry finish.

Overall - a well crafted Czech Pilsner that is worth repeating and stacks up well against some of the German and Czech representations of the style.

S-both malt and hop aroma are light, very clean aroma
T-sweet malt matched with a green hoppy bitterness and finishes with grain on the palate
