Tustin Brewery always has this available. This is actually an excellent IPA lost among all the great ones in California. Being tap-only in such a small local brewery probably has to do with it.
Tastes very hoppy, dry and backed up by a minimal malt backbone. Highly drinkable, low in viscosity, very good beer from an underrated brewery.

On tap at Tustin Brewing.

A: Light gold with two fingers of white sea foam. Retention is good and lacing forms sheets on the glass.

S: Perfumy orange flesh and some pith with grapefruit and tangerine. The citrus is bright and powerful, with a little bready malt. Floral notes are evident.

T: The beer opens with an upper moderate to lower high level of dry bitterness. The citrus is pronounced, reminiscent more of grapefruit and orange rind than flesh. Malt is feeble and crackery. As the beer warms, the flesh of the citrus becomes more apparent and a touch of sweetness comes out. There are floral notes, as well as a dash of alcohol.

M: Medium body with good carbonation.

Overall: This is good stuff. Nothing groundbreaking, but a nice IPA.

I had to give this beer a re-review as I found it to be significantly better this last time around (and worthy of a significant purchase).

A: The pour is the same golden color with a touch of haze and a big white head. The lacing is sporadic, but still looks nice.

S: A really great tropical fruit aroma provides a bit of a sweet fruit character. Pineapple and mango come to mind as do sweet oranges. A touch of grapefruit and pine provide some balance.

T: There is a touch of malt here, but the moderate sweetness again comes from the fruity hops. Moderate bitterness on this one, it will appeal to more beer drinkers, but good grapefruit rind and pine notes.

M: The body is medium with a moderate carbonation.

D: Wow, a big improvement. Tustin doesn't get quite the recognition of other brewpubs (probably because they do have quite a few misses), but this one was really enjoyable.

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ,

A: Pours a goldenrod/light amber with a solid white head, leaving spotty lace.

S: Striking tropical fruit, pineapple, lots of oranges, kiwi fruit, very nice. My kind of nose in an IPA.

T: Taste gets a lot more traditional pub IPA. Lots of grapefruit, typical crystal malt, bitter melon, some sweet citrus and lemon in the finish.

M: Medium-bodied, off-dry finish, resiny as per the style.

D: The nose tricked me into thinking I was going to get something great, but this beer still impressed me just going on the previous scores. Reminded me a bit of NB Ranger, they have a similar hop profile. A beer like this would get lost in a sea of outstanding San Diego and CA IPAs, but it's well made, has good flavours, an enjoyable pint.
