On-tap at Tustin

A: The pour is a dark amber color with a dense cream colored head.

S: Lots of pungent grapefruit aromas along with a slight lemon and orange note. The sweetness is there, bit somewhat minimal, and the same could be said about the pine.

T: The grapefruit just jumps out at you right away. Lots of bitter and mildly sweet grapefruit hop notes followed by a slight caramel and brown sugar sweetness. The finish has a mild bitterness to help cap things off.

M: A nice medium bodied beer with a lively and crisp carbonation.

D: This kind of red ale is up my alley. Nice hop character and decent bitterness with just a hint of sweetness for balance. (665 characters)

A: deep reddish amber with good head retention; lacing marks each sip.

A: grapefruit pith and malty aroma accompanied by mild notes of citrusy hops. Very inviting.

T: stronger boozy presence than typical red, but not at all overwhelming. Caramel malt flavor comes to the forefront of each drink.

M: smooth with an appropriate carbonation for the style. Dry bitterness lingers at the back of the tongue making you want to take another sip.

D: although ABV unknown, strong alcohol presence forces one to keep count of the number of pints they've had, especially on a school night.

Overall, it is an enjoyable brew that I wouldn't mind TBC adding to their regular line up.

On a side note, I was lucky enough to enjoy this on cask a week earlier, but not quite sober enough to review it. (790 characters)
