Stopped in here after seeing that it had some better beer. Everything seemed relatively fresh from what I looked at. The Jolly Pumpkin made North Peak pale that I picked up was very good.
The owner asked me if I needed help when I walked in, so service was
Very nice selection for such a small "hole-in-the-wall" place, I imagine it caters to the tourist crowd (for what it's worth, I wasn't a tourist, I was "working"). Plenty of Belgians, and Michigan beers, plus some out of state micros.
Overall, a nice place, if you don't want anything too rare (Jack's market is the place in TC for rare stuff as far as I can tell). Fairly reasonable pricing.

I hate to say anything negative about Bo-Beer as it's the only place in Traverse City that I can find my favorite beer, Tucher Bajuvator Doppelbock. But in the past my girlfriend has bought some stale beer from Bo-Beer. The latest was a not so fresh six pack of Peroni. Peroni used to be her favorite, now she won't drink it anymore. A while ago she bought me an Ebulum Elderberry Black Ale without noticing that it was beyond the date on it's bottle. She also bought a terribly stale English "cask style" ale their, I forget what it was. Bo-Beer is trying to carry a better selection of beers. There selection isn't terrible for this town. And I'm sure if Traverse City was more supportive they'd have a better turnover and fresher product. I'll keep going for the Tucher Bajuvator Doppelbock at least.
