On-tap at Trinity Brewhouse in Providence, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a reddish gold color, with a thin off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a decent lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of hops, wheat, citrus & barley.

T: The taste is bready with a strong but pale hops flavor, citrus & caramelized malt. The after-taste is a combination of wheat & hops.

M: Crisp and smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, very dry finish.

D: This is an easy-drinking beer. It’s light enough that you can drink a lot of it and kind of tasty. However, it’s not the first beer I’d choose when I’m there.

Being one of my favorite watering holes, I love to try the different styles at Trinity. After an extended absence (probably from popularity since it was on the menu), I tried this pale ale.

It pours a nice amber golden color with a small and quickly disappearing head; however, that could be due to the fact that the bartenders seemed to want to fill the glass all the way, allowing the head to spill out. It looked perfectly carbonated.

There was a mild aroma of hops, but it wasn't very strong.

The taste continues the mild hops flavor, but is pleasantly not bitey. There's a mild bitterness expected from this style. All in all, it was a great beer, and I continued to drink 5 more of them.

I didn't read the other reviews of this until today (the morning after) and I felt inclined to post a more recent review of this beer as the last one is over a year ago. They seemed to have worked out some of the issues mentioned in previous reviews as I did not experience the low carbonation.

Slightly cloudy, orange-amber color. Loses points for the lackluster head.

The aroma is floral, fresh hops. The malt is muted. Tastewise, this is a very round mouthfeel. The flavors are more hop than malt, but I would still consider it well-balanced as the flavor changes from sip to swallow. Full bodied and appropriately carbonated, this is a very good entry in the pale ale world.

Characteristics are interesting, but not necessarily inspired.

Flowers. Yep, bigtime flowers, that would be the summation.

Plenty of hops in this unfiltered offering.

No big head presence, and a tiny sub-nitro sized bubble makes for undercarbonization in mouthfeel. Flavor is just about the only experience for the mouth. If you really just want taste and don't mind a lack of multi-faceted experience, then here's your pale. Not a ton of alcohol. Fruity flowery hop aftertaset lingers and lingers and lingers.

This beer definitely takes an acquired taste as its flavors is not subtle at all. My friend said it reminded her of her wedding flowers. Which seems apt enough, if one were in a room of overpowering aromatic flowers, and then you ate them. The beer is bitter, not flavorful bitter like a beer should be, but bitter like unripe fruit. The best item of note about this beer is its color, it is a tarnished orange color with a slight head that has lace that clings to the glass.

This impressive pale ale presents with a hazy straw color and thin, creamy head. The aroma is spicy and sweet with definitive Cascade hop presence. The body is smooth and supports a good malt character and just-spicy-enough citrus hoppiness. Sweet finish helps create a very nicely balanced ale.
