Presents a very clear liquid with a creamy lace on the glass. Distinctive hop aroma with a bready malt undertone. The drier bready flavor is paired with a building moderate bitterness and a nice noble hop spice. The finish is crisp and dry, but leaves enough malt on the tongue to invite the next swig.

On-tap 1/17/11 at the brewpub Providence, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light gold color, thin white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of light malts, grain and a decent amount of hops.

T: The taste starts out bready with flavors of grain and a light but hearty malt character. There's a decent hops presence and a mild sweetness that creates a good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready.

M: Crisp and smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

D: A little tasty, goes down very easily, not filling at all, very mild kick, good representation of style, this is a nice lighter beer to pound down for a long time.

Pours straw gold and is quite clear (compared to Trinity's other brews). No head or lace present.

The smell (and later the taste) has a strong grassiness to it. This beer seems to have adjuncts as it tastes thin, yet it is full bodied. Confused? So am I. There are strong flavors that I associate with belgian whites. The greatest one is wheat malt. This beer falls short of the expectations of a pilsner.

Notes from 6/29/04

Glowing clear yellow, very sticky lace, no real head just fuzz. Smells like bananas! Flavor is a big lemon blast with more bananas. This is like a filtered american hefe. Good carbonation tickle, thin body. Crisp, good bitterness. Seems young and semi-disjointed. I am not picking up the advertised saaz in this either. Definitely off-style as this seems like a blend of a pils and a hefe.

Not an unpleasant beer, but not impressive and not as advertised.

Had on tap this past week. Golden blonde when served, the aroma was low and bready. Taste comes across a bit more biscuity actually (when I asked about the grains used in this one, one of the employees I saw in the brewery mentioned English malts). Pleasant small carbonation, and I even picked up some spiceyness from the Saaz in the finish. Not bad. This was listed as the Patriots Pilsner during my visit.

A: Pours a clear, straw yellow. Thin white head on top. Minimal lacing saves the look.

S: Grass and a sour funk up front, weak grains in the back.

T: Rather neutral taste; watered down hop flavor, an almost adjunct grain quality, and tartness.

M: Incredibly thin, with far too much carbonation.

O/D: After trying so many enjoyable beers, I sadly ended with this let down. I'm assuming this one is on tap for the BMC fans walking in, asking for a BL. The beer has little flavor and doesn't bring much to the table for craft beer fans. Too many good beers on tap to waste time with this one.
