I always love Wing Night downstairs at Trinity. There's always some interesting people to watch too. I await their Strawberry Belgian each summer...and there's never ever enough :)

Stopped in here after hitting the malted barley while in town for Homebrewcon.
The place was packed on an early wed evening until they opened downstairs where we found a seat in the cave at the bar. Old school feel and we each ordered up a pint of something different. Two IPA's and a dry stout. The IPA's were loaded with diacetyl but the stout was pretty good. We didn't order any food so I cant comment on that. The bartender was helpful but unapologetic about the substandard beers they serve. I might go back and order up a flight and maybe some food just to be sure but based up this trip this might be a brewery to skip.

Not impressed at all. We had hummus, which was pretty much pureed chickpeas... bland. Spinach dip waz good but how hard is that to fuck up? Calamari was spicy but should have been sauteed not fried. Sangria was excellent. The beers were solid but they should have served them in pint glasses not soda glasses. Wont be returnung if im ever in providence.

The bar is welcoming and comfortable, close to downtown and most of the shopping and entertainment so walking around is easy. The food is acceptable for a pub but if you looking for a nice dinner i suggest you stop here first to enjoy a local brew.

Trinity has a few beers worth trying on tap but the draft list is usually scant. 10 or less to choose from. Not all of the beers are of great quality (that I'd want to drink again). Very cool location. Long bar and plenty of tables to dine at. Service was excellent and the food was above average. Right across the street from Hasbro Toys HQ.

Walked by three staff and waited at the bar. Took awhile before being greeted (not busy either). Bar keep was only friendly when delivering the check. Took our to-go food home after our beer. they gave a slice of fish instead of a fish sandwich. Called and the manager said she wouldn't do anything because it "is just a couple slices of bread." oh, and the food was gross. Seriously, a fish sandwich from somewhere fast food would have been better.

Nice looking pub... English feel to it. Bar seats about 20 with dining areas at both ends...maybe a dozen plus tables. Seven beers on tap, nothing exciting. Food was pretty bad...turkey burger tasted like bologna.

Average pub atmosphere with an outside seating area along the street. Service was average, nothing out of the ordinary. They had about 8 of their beers on tap. I had three, two were forgettable, the IPA was a bit above average. The food, I had the pulled pork nachos, were very good actually.

Providence is like if Boston survived a suicide attempt. And not one of those sissyboy attempts, like sleeping pills. More like one of those guys who somehow manages to fuck up a shotgun in the mouth. It's still New England--got the awful traffic and hideous accent and even the meathead jocks are genuinely tolerant--but there's no natural or architectural background to bring this New Englandness into sensible relief. It's just... this place. With things in it.
Trinity is a chill, super old school brewpub just around the block from the place where Hasbro makes all sorts of cool toys. I *think* this was downtown Providence--I drove by what passes for their skyline to get here--but I can't say for sure.
Anyhow, this was 5:30 on a Friday and the crowd was sparse but happy. The building is ancient and woody and the acoustics are pleasantly weird. Regulars joked loudly at the bar and the waitstaff were very friendly. There's TVs above the bar and downstairs has a second bar and a pool table. Lots of old banners and RI-centric beer schwag.
There were 8 or so house offerings on tap along with a couple of local ciders and some hard liquor.
The beers were very old school and very brewpubby. Even the Citra IPA had a English-tasting backbone. This probably won't be up to your tastes if you just got into craft beer in the past few years, but if you adjust your expectations you should walk away satisfied. Not *super pleased* , but satisfied. The beer is okay.

One of the first places I fell in love with when I moved to Prov 10 years ago. Growlers of their Belgian Strawberry are like gold. And when they changed their menu and the Jerk Chicken Sandwich was taken off, the awesome chef was nice enough to always make it for me.
