Thanks to Exiled for this nice extra.
12oz. brown bottle poured into an imperial pint.
A: Pours a deep brown with lots of ruby light coming through. A moderate head on the pour without much retention or lacing.
S: Smells of light roast coffee with some added acidity. Milky and even some darker, slightly bitter chocolate notes.
T/M: Pleasant coffee flavors that don't over power the Brown Porter base. More of the milk and dark bitter chocolates. Not a ton of roasted maltyness, which is a surprise. The acidity from the aroma is just barely detectable. Body is medium to medium light with mild carbonation. Maybe cask style for a bottle?.. hence Real Ale? I don't think I've had any of their other beers.
D: 6.3% is actually a bit surprising as there is no hint of alcohol and it's very drinkable. I thought this would be closer to 4% than 6%. Not a very flashy beer but definitely something I'd order at a local pub with dinner or during a game.
