12oz bottle poured into a narrow stein!

Bottle provided as a generous extra by Exiled, thanks Jason!

A - Pours a dark amber with nice golden highlights to it. Builds about two finger's of cloudy head which diminishes pretty quickly. Can see a heavy carbonation in this beer and it's clarity is visually appealing. Moderate lacing.

S - Smell is extremely bready and very strong notes caramel. Mildly spicy and even a sense of skunk to it.

T - Taste is full of the dry biscuit bread notes that were so apparent in the nose. Outside of that, there's little going on with this beer besides a slight spice and bitter hop finish. A bit bland and a tad buttery as well.

M - Mouthfeel is heavy with surprisingly little carbonation. This beer is thick, each sip is like taking a big bite of bread. I could see it pairing nicely with a meal, but it's a bit heavy for nighttime drinking. Finish is short and underwhelming.

D - Drinkability is low. The flavor profile isn't much to get excited for, and the thickness just kind of kills it for me.

Tried on tap at the Rockwall Flying Saucer. Pours orangish amber, about like you would expect an Oktoberfest to look. Smell is malty with a little sweetness. Taste is similar. Not the best Oktoberfest out there, but a good representation of the style that will not disappoint you.

Poured from 12oz bottle. Many thanks to AttitudeBrew for this bottle.

A- Pours a hazy amberish color with light orange hues to it. One finger white foam shows light retention. Spotty lacing on the sides of the glass.

S- Bready caramel malts in the front of the aroma. There is some light toasted malts as well with a hint of little nuts and hops.

T- Bready malts in the front of the beer showcase a caramel malt that becomes the backbone throughout the entire beer. A toasted middle to the beer brings in a light off buttery tone as well. Mild spiced hops in the ending gives way to a corn like grainy final flavor.

M- Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation is medium and light for the style I think. Caramel malts with some light toasted flavor to it are left on the palate. Aftertaste is mostly grainy flavor, light alcohol, and toasted malts. Flavors were well put together for the style although the overall flavor could have popped more. Light buttery undertone in the middle is the only off flavor in the beer. Light alcohol drying on the palate.

D- This beer is drinkable but average at best. I personally enjoyed the ABV being as low as it was. Alcohol never really became overpowering. Flavors could have been a little more but average and doesn't leave you wanting more.

Pours out a deep amber. Smells toasty, grainy, and cardboard-y. That toast and graininess is way up front in the taste. I get some of the classic Marzen flavors underneath that: some breadiness and caramel sweetness, but the initial characteristics take over. Mouthfeel is kind of slick and the carbonation is too sharp. This isn't particularly good; not at all, really.
