A: it pours with a slight head and very think with no transparency (which is what I look for in these heavier beers).
S: An amazing sweetness that is something unique to this beer and why I rated it so high. You know you are getting a quality aged beer
T: Almost reminds me of a maple-ish flavor with a solid background that allows the barrel aged potency to shine
M: A little heavy but something I have come to expect with these aged beers
O: A unique barrel aged treat that is work the $$ if you find it. An overall solid flavor profile that allows the barrel flavors to shine

11 oz. pour. Stemmed tulip.

Look- Murky brown, half finger of off-white head. Very fine froth, decent retention.

Smell - Whoof! Big, barley-forward nose here! Raspberry jam, fig, concord grape. Light smokiness. Sweet, vinous, more fig. Mild booze - vinegar, but only in the best way. Very bold, pungent even.

Taste- Well, this tastes like straight-up fig Newtons. Go figure. Soft, round, ripe,, vinous fruit hits straight off, followed by a mellow sweet biscuit. Finishes with brown sugar, light tealike hop flavor. Mild-moderate green, fresh minty something mixes it up with a dank earthiness. Robustly figgy. Can't say I've ever had quite like it.
,
Mouthfeel- Full, medium- heavy body. Crisp, smooth carbonation. Lighter than anticipated. Mild, mellow finish. One to savor, but by no means heavy. Mild warming, light astringency on the back end, overall warm, well-rounded feel.

Overall- A winner. Uber-barleywine, super plum-fruity, moderate earthiness keeps it in check. Unique. Highly recommended.
