2014 edition, really old now, but drinking mature and delicious still, with a ton of brett, almost over developed, if this was ever delicate, it sure isnt any more. tons of oak to the hazy pale beer on the nose and in the flavor, wet and white winey, but also just sort of woodsy an decaying, with heaps of bretty funk on it, sourdough bread, soft peaches and apricots, although it sounds like they have done an edition that actually has fruit in it. time has done this well, its as complex as they get, with the grain still relatively intact, and the brett just totally evolved and interesting, if a bit high in the flavor mix. it feels heavy to me, much heavier than its abv, i taste an almost fusel alcohol thing in here and there is a lot of body. im not sure if this is mysterium verum imperium or if thats something else, but it was sold to me as just imperium from 2014, so thats what i am going with. sturdy and funky old wild beer, drinking nice right about now but very robust, tart too but mostly funky. i dont think i knew these guys even did this sort of thing. cool to try this old vintage!

Nice funky nose with Brett, lemon and hay, citrus hops, too. Lightly tart taste with funk and cirtrus and flowers. Moderate bitterness, dry finish.
