Pours a dusky gold. Starts with a white frothy small head that quickly dissipates. Some lingering lace with a rim of white bubbles that hold tight around the edges of the glass as it is quaffed, or sipped.
Scents are nice and tight. A good amount of piney hops. Some citrus is mixed in. A bit of lemon comes to the nose. There is a hint of metallic in the far background that for me was ever so slightly negative but barely worth mentioning. The bouquet is straight forward and pleasant on the nose. A real treat.
The strongest part of the flavors is a biting citrus. This one is a bit bitter, but the hops blend well with the malt to keep it in check. Some rind and a mild nut flavor round this beer out. The flavors stand up well. The malts do take a back seat to the hops but this beer is simple. A big flavored pale and that is it. The fact that this beer is straight forward is wonderful. You drink what you get. Very tasty.
A very nice beer to quaff or sip. It is very easy on the palatte. The bitterness in the flavor moves easy with each sip because it has a very dry quality. The dryness is a wonderful addition to the overall drinkability to the beer. It serves to make a person order another, or ask for a growler to take home.
I recommend this beer. Very tasty, to the point and medium bodied. It is classified at Belmont Brewing Company, as a 'beer of the month.' Therefore I believe it will be gone soon and then appear again on some other date. Drink it while you can. Cheers.
