Been here several times over the last few years. My wife likes the Godiva nips and this is one of the only places around me that actually carry them. So whenever I go, I take a look at the beer as well.

It's a good sized store, one floor, wide range. Several isles that arn't that tall so you can see the whole store pretty easy. I kind of get the feeling that wine is there big thing, because that's where you tend to see most of the staff. Out of all the times I've been in the store, the only time I've been offered any help is when I've been in the wine section of the store. Also the wine/spirits are much more organized. The craft beer aisle is a bit cluttered and unorganized.

The selection is actually pretty decent, there's a great deal of American Craft and imports. Southern Tier, Mayflower, Clipper city, North Coast, Sam Adams, Harpoon, (most new england producsts), and plenty more. Plenty of the regular imports, Sam Smith, Wychwood, some St Bernardius and Mikkeller as well. Good stuff. On occasion they will have a rare find, but I feel they hike up the prices a bit. For example last time I was there I saw 2 Cherry Chocolate Stouts left at $5 a bottle and A Firestone 14th for $23. You can find those at Granite on the other side of RT 18 for atleast 20% cheaper. But the rest of their regular selection is much more on par. They also have a long refigerated selection in the back with Berkshire and more regular selling selections.

A pretty good store overall, but not a regular place for me. Especially with Granite Liquors on the other side of Weymouth.

This is a great store. Probably one of the greatest on the South Shore. They have a huge selection of both import and US micros and the selection is growing. A lot of brewers represented here including Victory, Stone, Rogue, Great Divide, DFH, Brooklyn, Southampton, Ommegang, Southern Tier, AleSmith, and pretty much all New England micros. There are about 4 or 5 coolers with craft brews and a long shelf of bombers as well as a shorter shelf of imports. In the corner of the store, there are a crazy amount of cases of New England brews. A couple Harpoon 100 Barrel Series were back there too. I regret not picking up the Old Ale while I had the chance.

I had to ask for some help, but they were ready to help with anything. Mike is the main beer guy and he orders all the imports and micros. The prices were very fair and they also let you break 6-packs with 10% off of each bottle.

Compared to the Curtis in Cohasset, the Weymouth store has a much better selection and better quality. There were a couple guys going through all the wine racks and checking bottles as well as dusting, so I can imagine they do the same with the beer because it was all very clean. Definitely a great stop to make even if you aren't in the area.

Update: this store really went south. I visited again on 1/18/13. So much old and expired beer, everything is covered in dust, and most beer isn't organized well. The selection is still pretty good but when most of it is past date, what's the point? The guy who was stocking craft beer was on his cell phone on a personal call and didn't seem to care about the beer or people. If you're looking for a new place to buy craft beer, look elsewhere.

I live right around the corner from Curtis and stop by every now and then to see what's new or on sale. It's mostly a wine store, but they do have a pretty good selection of craft and specialty beers, but really nothing out of the ordinary. I've been in this store at least 100 times and have never been asked if I needed any help, not that I need any, but I just realized it and found it strange. Prices are about average and if nothing good is on sale, I'll go home empty handed and stop by Granite a few miles away.
