The appearance is light brown with a average head. The aroma is actually spot on for the style with toasted malt, caramel, nuts, and hops but it's way to weak. The taste is like the aroma being too weak and possessing an astringent bitterness. The palate is thin. Overall not a bad beer but one that needs to buff up.

O-Town Brown Ale served in a shaker pint at the brewery tap room. The beer is brown in color with a white head. The aroma is kind of malty. The flavor is nice, there is a bit of caramel and a touch of chocolate with a nutty aftertaste. Not bad, worth a try. I also had some of this mixed with their Grateful Pumpkin for what the bartender called a Charlie Brown.

12 FL.OZ. bottle
Served in a perfect pint glass

A - I wouldn't say it is quite brown. It is more of a really dark amber. I normal pour produces an abundant off-white to beige head. I just read the bottle, and it is labeled "keep cold - live beer." Oops. It was warm on the trip back from Florida. That explains the large head.

S - It has a sweet aroma. I get some cocoa and caramel.

T - That cocoa sweetness hits my tastebuds followed by some mild bitterness. There are some earthy tastes as well.

M - Medium and pretty smooth

O - It is not a bad beer. Maybe a little sweeter than I prefer my brown ales.

I had a chance to try the Brown Ale when visitng the tasting room at Orlando Brewing. For me, Browns are either very good or the reverse. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the Brown. The appearance is light brown with white head that laced. The smell had toasted malt, caramel, nuts, and slight hop. The taste is like the smell, but then turns slightly bitter at end. Mouthfeel was light in body with decent carbonation. Overall I was not crazy about it.

I had this on tap at Ragland's in Downtown Disney.

A: Brown-amber in color, with a one finger or so head that had a decent bit of retention.

S: I got a hint of brown sugar, malted milk balls, and even some coffee, but overall, this smelled extremely stale to me.

T: The nutty quality had a very rotten taste to it that was very off-putting. Additionally, I think I now know what sand tastes like... and rotten wood.

M: Tempered sweetness, with a very light lager-ish feel, but who cares? This one was a lace bomb.

O: The only reason I didn't drain pour this is because no drain was present, so I left the glass about half full.... Florida drinkers beware!

The beer was served on-tap at the Orlando Brewing tasting room, and served in a pint glass. The beer is borderline translucent, with a nutty-brown hue and a low profile, white head. The beer just looks watery. The nose is slight mocha and nut, both mildly sweet, with some toasted notes, too. The flavor leans more into coffee flavors, with a mild, overpowered chocolate milk undertone. Crisp and light bodied, the beer has a quick and slightly dry finish. The aftertaste is bitter coffee and a slight, subtle hops highlight. Surprising flavors after the body and appearance.

Best local option at the Dolphin hotel in the Disney complex.

Pours a tannish-brown, some white foam. Little bit of retention. Nice smell - quite hazel-nutty, with expeected notes of caramel in there. Clean taste, light carbonation. Some sweetness. Goes down easy, nice brew.

12 oz. bottle tried 30 Dec 2009. Gift from M, thank you!

Served in a Sierra Nevada Celebration shaker pint. Very large tan head. Medium carbonation. Clear dark copper brown color. Light aroma, some caramel, somewhat musty. Taste is a bit of chocolate but also a touch sour and stale. FInishes faintly like bitter cocoa, but overall pretty light in flavor. Medium foamy body. Ethanol light.

Would not go out of my way to get this again.

Had on tap at downtown disney served in standard american pint.

A- pours a nice dark amber color wiht a finger of white fluffy head that disipates quickly.

S- nutty with a small hint of dark malt.

T- starts off with a nice nut taste and has a solid malty finish. Has a slight bitter taste on the tounge which is welcome.

M- good for the style and thicker then most.

D- fairly high and could easily have multiple. May be a little sweet to have to many but solid overall.

The beer pours a dark amber color with a thick head that lasts all the way to the finish leaving a healthy lace along the way.

Sightly nutty nose that also linger through.

Mouth feel is more rich than most browns, like Newcastle which is enhanced by the carbonation of the head, as it is a rather still brew.

The finsh is very nutty and a bit sweet and lingers on the tongue without being too much.

It's maybe a tad too sweet for a session brew, but a couple of these in a night would be fine.

Pours a nutty brown body with minimal tan head and minor lacing. A mild sweet malt smell of the basics, caramel and chocolate, mixed with a little bit of roasted malts. A thin body that contains mild residual sweetness from those malts and finishes slightly dry. A standard, ho-hum brown that is nice to have but nothing spectacular.
