Pours amber with a 1 inch cream-colored head, which slowly fades. Moderate lacing.
Not a lot of aroma. Slight caramel malt, slight citrus.
Taste is caramelly, malty, bready, nutty. Low hop bitterness.
Thin to medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Semi-sweet finish.
A decent amber. Way better than AAL's.

$ 2.21 (Including tax and deposit)/12 oz bottle ($ 0.184/oz) at Alkies, Massena, NY. Reviewed 8/12/19.
Undated bottle. Stored on shelf in store. Stored at 42 degrees and served at 42 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Appearance – 3.
First pour – Medium yellow, clear.
Body – Amber, hazy with slight but continuous effervescence. When held to the light, orange and translucent.
Head – Large (Maximum five cm, aggressive center pour), light tan, medium density, average retention, retracting to a four to five mm crown fed by effervescence and a partial rocky cap.
Lacing – Poor. Scattered small islands of tiny bubbles.
Aroma – 3.5 – Caramel and toffee, medium strength.
Flavor – 4 - Begins with slightly sweet caramel and ends with a mixture of malt and hop bitterness. No alcohol taste or aroma (5.2 % ABV), no diacetyl, no dimethylsulfide.
Palate – 4 – Medium, almost creamy, soft carbonation.
Impression and interpretation – 3.5 (- 0.25 point for undated individual container) – An American amber ale that has a heavier body and more flavor than the average amber. At this price point, it’s a bargain!

Pours clear chestnut-brown,with moderate light tan head.
Aroma is light malt. Flavor is light bready malt, with a touch of nuttiness & this morning's (cold) coffee.(Taste is like the coffee's smell.) Just a touch of bitterness, & fine carbonation on the finish.
Feel is medium-thin, as would be expected, @ 5.2% abv.
Nothing special, but not bad.

Being a resident of northern New York I'm quite familiar with this brew, its everywhere, usually the only "craft" offering at chain restaurants. This tall glassful, delivered at a steakhouse was a nice tawny brown with a decent foamy head. Not a whole lot of aroma, a very slight malty presence. The taste is pretty neutral, not too much of any prominent flavor, perhaps a little nutty. Mouthfeel is a little thin and the finish is crisp and dry. At least it ain't fizzy yellow crap!

I was pleasantly surprised by this beer. It isn't like most other ales I've had, and in the best sense possible.
Look: Looks more like a lager, maybe Yuengling. Dark oak possibly.
Smell: Quite malty. Not much else, maybe just a little cereal.
Taste: Similar to smell. Quite well-rounded, heavy on the malt.
Feel: Smooth. Very smooth, almost creamy for an ale. Sticks with you.
Overall: I really liked this ale. The flavors are simple but full, and the overall experience is better than the individual components.

No idea why this beer isn't higher rated than it is.
Pours dark copper to mahogany, with a nice frothy head of at least two fingers. Head dissipates somewhat quickly but leaves a thin layer of suds.
The nose is dominated by malts. A very subtle rosti almost smokey quality is hidden behind layers of caramel, coffee, molasses, and that carmelized goodness that you get from anything that's been fried to the point where it's golden brown delicious. Very slight hop aromas are present but difficult to pull out. They offer light Herbal and bitter aromas that accent the malts nicely.
The flavors in this one mostly follow the nose, but to put it into synesthesia terms, the palette is perhaps best described as fall leaves. The cell carries most of the best qualities of an amber and a brown ale, while evoking some traits of an English bitter, all without being overly complex. Easy drinking fun. Would say crowd pleaser, but ratings from community don't seem to agree.
The mouthfeel is medium light, almost ... Crunchy... if I can say that without having someone question my sobriety!
I really enjoyed this brew the first time I had it and its only grown on me since then. I could imagine this beer, perhaps served warm, being the all day everyday beverage of soldiers on the front lines at the Battle of New Orleans.

This one is a tawny dark red-brown color, some light coming through for an overall effect of translucence. The tan head starts off big, a mix of foamy and spritzy, which condenses for a strong full finger and sticks down good lace.
The aroma is somewhat nutty and earthy with some fruity esters and a fairly strong tang.
That nutty tang carries through in the flavor. It's sharp to the point of almost being sour, and there's some bitterness from earthy and herbal hops.
The feel is crisp and biting, medium dry with a fair smoothness that could use just a bit of cleaning up.
