I've been to Brixx's many times and find it a very pleasing place to go to. It's practically right across the street from Fifth/Third Field, and it's a great casual upbeat place to hit up after one of the games for drink with friends. I particularly like sitting outside on the patio when the weather is nice. While it always looks packed and sometimes parking is hard to find, I've never had to wait very long to be seated when going there for dinner. The beer selection is fair, specialty drafts change often. They had Great Lakes Burning River in draft the last time I was there, along with a few other goodies. My friends and I rave about the Rueben; it's excellent!

Yikes! Went to Brixx's the other night for dinner and drinks. Sat down and was informed that the only decent micro they had was "something" from Great Lakes and that you could only get it if you sat outside on the patio. Sat there for a minute and decided to sneak out before we ordered anything.
I don't know what happened to this place, but since my last visit they have really gone downhill with their beer selections...

Right across from Fifth Third Field. We went here during a Dragon's game, there was plenty of room inside. Lots of televisions, and views of the stadium from the large windows in front. There is an upstairs, and a patio, but the weather was not optimal for outside, so we sat inside. I think there were about 12 beers on tap, and most of them were BMC, the main highlights were Blue Moon, and a tap handle for Great Lakes Elliot Ness. I ordered the Great Lakes, and it turned out to be Burning River. I was happy, as that is a favorite of mine, but I don't like it when the tap handle is not what is on draft, and the server doesn't point it out. The bottle selection is slightly better than the tap selection. Lots of American macros, along with Canadians as well. HIghlights included Sierra Nevada Pale, and Great Lakes Holy Moses. Our service was ok. We did not eat, so I can't say about the food. Not a bad stop, just don't expect much. Good to go for a beer if you are going to a game.

Tried to go here last night for a few good brews and some good eats. I've eaten here a few times in the past and they always have had a good selelction of beers both draught and bottle. Nothing exceptional mind you but good. And their food has always been very appetizing.
Last night however there was a Dayton Dragon game so it was really busy. After waiting for the crowd to subside a tad we went back and sat inside the restaraunt as the patio area was pretty full.
It took about 20 minutes for a server to wait on us. When she finally did I asked what specialty beers or imports they had. The only things they had were Red Hook IPA and Widmer Hefeweizen. Everything was being served in Great Lakes glasses so I asked if they had GL she said it's only on the patio we don't serve it in here. She wouldn't go get me one either.
I was more in the mood for a good beer than good food and I'd rather not eat fattening food anyway so we left. And I'm not sure I will be returning again. What was once a place to get a decent beer and good food has obviously succumb to the monster that is AB. From all the neons they get and what not hence only AB products on draught and bottle.

This new grill and pub just opened last week, on Friday, May 16, 2003. It is located adjacent to the Dayton Dragons' baseball park, Fifth/Third Field. Parking nearby, but difficult near game times. Lots of seating and the upstairs has not yet been completed and opened. Outdoor seating area as well for fair weather. The selection of bottled and tap beers is fair and the brews are served appropriately. Lots of goodies on the food menu, but we were headed to the game so we couldn't try anything. Looks like it'll be a fairly happening place.
Update, late June: Been back to the ballpark a couple of times - this place is always so packed it's hard to get through the door.
Update, July 2003: Late lunch after ballgame. Four of us had sandwiches and we were all quite pleased with the quality of our fare.
