Huge foamy head, cloudy orange, no floaters, perfect hefeweizen pour.
Nice smell of sweet banana, wheat, buttery yeastiness, clove, mild citrus hops.
Nice and fruity taste, with a bubblegum fruitiness: lots of banana, mild citrus(tangerines, lime), faint tropical notes and orchard fruit, really tasty, especially with a nice clear sweetness that is not syrupy in the slightest. Hints of honey.Wheat malts are bready and fluffy, a nice rich foundation. Spicy yeasts, big clove, faint pepper. Some nice green hops in the finish, with a mild bitterness, to cut off any lingering sweetness.
Medium body, not chunky and clumsy, but a bit creamy and fluffy, it's actually quite perfect. Low to medium fizz brings a nice prickle.
This is German brewing of the highest quality, one of the best weizens i've ever had (and that probably are out there). In the big league, with (maybe even better than) Weihenstephan and Ayinger.

BB 10.1.14 (January)
Pours a big frothy head, cloudy, lightish yellow. 33cl bottle in a 33cl weizen glass - what with the big head, the last bit of the bottle has to wait. Temperature is somewhere between cellar and fridge.
Smell reminds me of bannana ice cream(!) Taste is sweet yet astringent. Bannana, clove; it's not full, there's a metallic finish which doesnt help...
Just added the end of the bottle. Smell improves noticeably - more body, nicely rounded - peppery spicy with cloves. Taste is much better too. Theres a really lovely velvety mouthfeel; the astringency comes through later; the finish is no longer metallic but still a bit thin. I wish I had another - to pin down those tastes a bit bit better - but also cause I reckon I'd enjoy another...

Appearance: Orangish; cloudy; large head that lingered entire glass

Aroma: Spicy, normal wheat beer aroma

Taste: Smooth, but watery; good dinner wheat beer, but not that inspiring

Remarks: Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

Poured a large white creamy head. Pretty good retention, excellent lacing. Colour was an orange gold, strong carbonation, not too noticeably hazy, the yeast addition adds a hazy burnt amber.

Smell has a lot of fruity banana and wheat malt. A bit of a bubblegum note. Quite a dry fruitiness, bit acidic. Some nutiness and a present bitterness, rich banana bread, butter. Delicious.

Taste is a fruity mix, banana, rich malt, some definite toffee sweetness. Good countering bitterness, light herbal hopiness. Some light cinnamon spice, almond, herbal, some tannic leather. Finishes really full and satisfying. Dry and nicely crisp. Yeast addition adds a firm yeasty, banana feel, dramatically improves the beer.

Mouthfeel has a lot of carbonation, and a light body throughout. A firm biting yeasty edge is noticeable and pleasant. Comes together nicely at the end. Really drinkable and sessionable. Satisfying with a good balance of sweetness, malt and yeast.

This was a good hefe, interesting. I made the mistake of starting my review before getting to the bottom of the bottle and incorporating the yeast, which made a drastic improvement and took it to new heights. A good example of this style, tasty, and to the point. A nice mix of flavours and pleasant to drink, its nice to find a hefe that is more than just banana and bubblegum, a good example of the style.

Wonderful head, three fingers above the glass! Hazy dark orange colour. Predominant citrus smell with less banana than usual for the style, which is good news, for a change. Taste follows aroma, very citric. Very efervecent that explodes when left on your tongue. Light sweetness, makes it with a superior drinkability compared to other hefeweizen.

Pours hazy orange with huge and creamy white head, excellent retention with beautiful patchy lacing. Aroma is fresh spicy yeast, grains, as well as fruits.

Taste is a pleasant mix of subtle sweetish wheat malt, fruit (lemon, orange and banana), bits of bread, hints of pepper. Mouthfeel is heavy and full with lively carbonation.

Amazing Hefeweizen, certainly the best I have had in a few years time.
