This brew pours a nice strawberry champagne looking hue with average carbonation that leaves behind a one finger head and little lacing, the smell is just basically sour tart raspberries,it has a pretty light mouthfeel to it and the first taste i get is obviously sour tart raspberries and alot of them followed by a biscuty malt and it finishes with a slight hoppy bitterness that really levels out the sweetness that is first encountered and overall i do enjoy it but could not drink probably more than two of in a sitting but in saying that today im not in the mood for sweet beers but i still find it somewhat appealing.

A: Pours a hazy bronze color with a small head that fades to decent lacing.

S: Aroma of raspberry sweetness.

T: Taste of raspberry sweetness. Mild bitterness and a lingering raspberry taste.

F: Light body, smooth but too sweet.

O: Another fruit beer which I did not really enjoy as it is too sweet.

Remain a fan of this beer. Tasted blind I would have picked this as a junior Rodenbach but it lacks the depth of sour fruits and integration to be taken really seriously. Notwithstanding, the dry raspberry fruits (with a hint of pong) definitely have appeal. Understated but quite good.

330 ML poured into a tulip

A-- Poured a light orange brown color. Short lived white head that quickly faded to film. Decent active head retention and a fair amount of carbonation shown with this.

S-- Big raspberry smell. Very tart and very berry. Has a bit of a kriek smell to it. Good nose to this.

T-- Not as big a punch in the taste as in the smell. Lots of carbonation and a little bit of sour tartness from the berries. Not as much raspberries as had hoped for from the smell.

M-- Good carbonation and has a sort of champagne sort of feel to this. Takes a bit for the tartness to kick into the mouth and need more raspberries in this. It is on the soft side and lacking a big punch that others have in this.

D-- It is good but lacks the big raspberry punch. Has a great smell but a letdown in the taste and mouth. Do get some of the residual tartness but not enough for that POW factor. This could be made into a really good raspberry brown ale though. Highly drinkable at 4.7% but one is more than suitable.

Appearance - 4.5
Pours into my stemmed pilsner glass with a domed, dense, light cream coloured head over a hazy, peachy-amber body.

Smell - 3.5
Quite fruity and perfumy like a Belgian fruit lambic with some tartness.

Taste - 3.0
Nice enough, but I am feeling like something is missing. A little raspberry flavour is there, with biscuity malt, a little sweetness, just a little hop bitterness (but no hop flavour or aroma), finishing dry.

Mouthfeel - 4.0
Light bodied with lively carbonation, an almost champagne-like mouthfeel.

Drinkability - 3.0
Not memorable enough to come back to (I wouldn't buy it again), but without the sticky sweetness that plagues some fruit beers and kills drinkability.

OVERALL - 3.5
A decent enough fruit beer, but less interesting than it sounds.

Pours dark amber with a persistent small head.
Raspberry is quite dominant on the nose, with some sweet caramel malt just noticeable underneath.
Less raspberry shows as a flavour, instead a pronounced harsh chalk, bleach and cement note is present. Some sweet malt lingers, but that harsh chemical note ruins everything.

Pours a clear, burnished copper colour with a thin, creamy white head. Decent head retention.

Good raspberry aroma but lacking in depth and interest.

Nice raspberry flavour in the initial attack followed by a more generic berry fruitiness through the mid-palate. Sweet, slightly tart finish. A smooth soft malt sweetness holds through the mid and back palates. Pretty good for what it is.

Light, refreshing body with plenty of fizzy, crisp carbonation here. This really helps with the light, fruity summer beer theme.

A decent beer... for what it is. It isn't something that I could drink lots of but it certainly isn't bad.

A - Dark straw colour with the slightest pink tinge. Couple of centimetres of white head that falls away quite quickly.
S - Raspberry smell comes through nice & strong.
T - The taste unfortunantly isn't as good as the smell. The raspberry flavour doesn't quite come through as well and gives a sour sensation. Theres a bit of sweet malt hidden in there.
M - Light bodied, medium carbonation with a dry finish.
D - Alright and worth a taste but nothing special.

Tried this at The Jamieson Breweryafter the seriously windy trip from Eildon.
As a novelty I really enjoyed the drink.
The raspberry colour is evident in the dark red beer.
The smell is enticing as it hits you with fresh raspberries in a punnet smell No sticky sweetness
The paspberry flavour is predominant on the forepalate and blends smoothly into a beer that has pleasnt mild maltiness.
Not the sort of beer to drink a lot of, but is the first beer my wife would actually taste( and I have tried 100s ) and said that at a pinch she would sip it again.

this not a bad brew, but im not real big on fruit beers. i find them a bit distracting and a bit overpowering in the end. its worth having a go at producing a beer like this, and it passes just, but i much prefer their others.

pours a cerise color, with a pale pinky head. mammoth raspberry nose, with some miniscule hop tinges. the initial impact on the palate is as youd expect. you guessed it, more raspberry. after a few mouthfuls tho, the beer behind it presents itself. its got a basic ale element, not unlike coopers pale , but it doesnt get a big enuff guernsey in the overall structure. does have a nice crisp hoppy finish to balance what is a sweetish beer. it ends up tasting overall like the pink tina wafers. its definately a beer that cannot be drunk in six pack form. it all just gets too much after a while.

if i was more into fruit beers i could see myself enjoying this alot more. alas i dont, so therefore this doesnt quite cut the mustard with me. jamiesons have made a fair effort with this, but ultimately i think they could better use their skills on a more satifying brew.

i will also mention that i talked to jeff from the brewery, and they use real raspberries. they have modified the application of the berries to the brewing process, but theres not artificial flavors in it.

The first Australian fruit beer I have had. Intrersting stuff, to say the least:

Colour is of a standard pale ale but it very much has a pink/strawberry tinge to it. Low head but good carbonation.

Nose is raspberries, raspberries and more raspberries. So strong its almost sweet jammy/syrupy.

Raspberry is the first flavour on the tip of the tounge but this is followed by a strong biscuit malt flavour on the back palate. The two flavours were very seperate. For a fruit beer to work the fruit and beer flavours should blend together. On this occasion they were very much apart.

Overall, nice, but nothing to celebrate.

Soapy, definitely, heavily overcarbed, fizzy. It smelt like their was more rasberry flavour than there ended up being, not totally unpleasant, it was drinkable. Pretty thin, but relativley crisp and refreshing, but besides a mild hit of rasberry syrup, theres not much else to say about the flavour.
