Brewed with four different types of rye, this ale boasts a spicy, bready and robust malt character. Complemented with floral and citrus notes from Godiva and Citrus hops, it finishes clean, bitter and balanced.

Frost Line Rye pours a dark cooper color, with a huge, long lasting lacing head. Aroma has a rye spice. Flavor is mellow, creamy, a hint of bitterness, lots of rye spice, and a warm finish. Good body and feel. Overall, great flavors, great for a cold night, a very nice rye beer.

12oz can. Can bottom is stamped 'EB 05/28/22', for best by date.
Clear, amber brown colored body. Two finger pillowy egg shell white head. Leaves layers and strings of lacing.
Aroma is dark toasted malt, with the spicy rye shining through. Good hop bite.
Taste is dark bread malt and rye spice, along with a definite hop bite. The hop bite lingers into the aftertaste.
Smooth mouth feel, medium weight. Dry in the finish Very good carbonation.
A very good spicy rye, malt, and hop combination brew. Expertly brewed by the veteran brewer. No major or minor flaws here. If you like the rye spiciness and a bitter bite this is highly recommended.

Appearance: Pours a clear, medium bronzed to brown color with a strong off-white head that is thick and lingers. SRM of 14. (4.50)

Aroma: Strong aromas upfront of rye and spice upfront. This turns into an aromas of lots of spiced pine. Finishes with a slightly smoky tobacco aroma. (4.00)

Flavor: Strong flavors of rye and spice upfront. Somewhat bready with some amber malts. Strong and bitter pine in the middle before a clean and dry finish. (4.25)

Feel: Light to medium bodied. Well-carbonated, with a bitter bite from the rye spice and pine lingers on the palate. (4.00)

Compared to Summit EPA? 2/13/22: Pours a darker color. Stronger head. Stronger aromas. More rye, cracker, pine. Less brown bread, cinnamon roll and caramel malts. Dryer and cleaner.

Compared to Dos Equis Amber 5/2/22: Pours slightly darker, stronger aromas. More rye spice for sure. Less bread and yeast. Spicier.

Overall: One of my first rye beers, but this one was fantastic! Nice flavors of rye, spice, and pine before a clean and dry finish. Slightly smoky on the end. I has a strong pine characteristic and almost feels like drinking dry, brown pine needles. This one was fantastic. (Final Rating: 4.17)

12oz can EB date 5/23/22 into a pint glass.
L: Pours a burnished copper/iced tea color w/a light khaki creamy 1.5" head. Very good retention and active carbonation with thick lacing & banding.
S: Heavy sweet caramel malts, grains, lightly floral, a suggestion of brown sugar, a hint of cocoa.
T: Same as aroma then long even firm bitterness that lingers. Very clean tasting.
F: Med-bodied comfortably well balanced moderately creamy mouthfeel w/a rather fast & drying finish.
O: A very simple tasting and easy drinking refreshing Rye Ale that is malty, bitter & dry. It is excellent in it's style.

It’s back! The initial run years back was good but underwhelming as I longingly wait for a local world-class rye to emerge. 12 oz. can.

The pour is a ruddy gold with enough whitish head to star in a Big Beer commercial. Rye wells up off the surface; my happiness quotient spikes in anticipation.

Front Line Rye is like the Rye Field of Dreams. No corn. Just rye. And baseball (which is currently on the endangered species list). Spicy rye is rubbed all over this “rye IPA” & runs through from start to finish. What little else peeks through is raw grains, sturdy malts, & a stiff bitterness on the finish. Searingly dry, leaves my mouth tacky. I could – strike that, will – drink a lot of this.

This is what I’ve been dreaming on; way more rye than IPA, this uses my favorite grain to nearly the fullest of its potential. Excellent beer.

A nice sweet citrus aroma with a little bit of malt. Not as potent as I was expecting, but a nice mild maltiness to it, and just the right amount of sweetness.
