Change from Horizon Red Ale. Addition of Mosaic hops and IBU levels. Changes in malts to make it an IPA.

I'm not a fan of IPAs in general, and this wasn't a good taste for me.

Two 12oz cans with enjoy by date Dec 3, 2021 poured vigorously into an imperial pint glass.
L: Pours a bright burnished red copper with a firm, creamy rocky off-white light beige 1.5" head with good retention, med-fine steady carbo, some random thick spotty lacing.
S: Hops, light citrus, berries, sweet bread, cereal grains, toasted caramelized malts, citrus zest.
T: Resinous hops, tangerine zest, pine/cedar, light grass, grains, sweet malt. Malt flavors rise as the pint warms. Very well rounded and has a light resinous linger.
F: It has a sharp, clean, velvet smooth medium-bodied mouthfeel with a medium-long finish and is only lightly drying. Bitter resins go wide and have staying power. It is lightly juicy.
O: A relatively bitter and resinous Red IPA that is English in style but remains a beautifully crafted American IPA. It is very well balanced, delicious and excellent in it's style.
**Had this on tap 6/14/23 at 7 West in Saint Cloud, MN and it was fantastic! Much thicker lacing and smooth drinking.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into glass. Enjoy by Date of 05/29/17.
Brewer's Notes: "An inspired hybrid that blurs the boundaries between IPA and Amber styles, the exceptional blend of American hops (including the harder-to-find Horizon variety and the enigmatic Mosaic) gives Horizon Red IPA an intense pine, citrus and earthy character in the nose and on the tongue."
Reddish copper body, with thick off white head, settling to bubbly cap. Lots of lacing.
Caramel malt aroma with citrus. Taste follows with late bitter pine.
Very dry on the tongue.
Totally good, even at its advanced age.

L: opaque reddish brown with ruby highlights around the edges. Rapidly rising bubbles support a 1" cream colored rocky foam column with good retention. The beer is moderately lacy.
S: Grain, lightly caramelized malt, spice and slightly earthy aromas rise from the glass with traces of resin, spice and tropical fruit.
T: layers of malt flavors with nutty biscuit, traces of caramel, grainy spice and kettle sugars balanced by tropical, spicy hop flavors.
F: This full flavored beer has a creamy, medium body and medium carbonation.
