Nice golden color. Nose resin, floral, citrus, hints of malt. Taste pine, orange, mango, tropical fruit and grassy. Lingering finish. Pretty good AIPA. Just had a triple IPA before this so my taste buds are a little off. Pretty good nonetheless.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of pine, citrus and toasted caramel. Sweet toasted caramel taste with a citrusy bite.

Summit Unchained #21 First Thread pours a honey-citrus amber color with a towering head of 4 fingers. After cleaning up the sides of the glass from overflow, it seems to be keeping its shape quite well. Slight haze and 30% opaque. Lots of beautiful and soapy lace up the sides.
Aromas of fresh squeezed orange, calcium fortified orange juice, and pine resins.
The flavor is explosive, with tons of citradelic hop and pine notes, alongside some interesting nuttiness and fresh squeezed orange. This is like Saga on steroids though less balanced and more bitter. It leaves off on a lightly toasted malt finish with lingering stinging bitterness.
Feel is large and creamy, also providing tons of carbonation to quench that IPA thirst. Curtains close on a semi dry dustiness.
Overall, definitely a spawn off of Saga, and though I don't think you can improve on that one, this one goes a different direction and provides some interesting variety.

Summit Brewing Co. "UNCHAINED Series Batch 21 US & THEM 1st Thread: American IPA"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle, coded "6046 0752"
Appearance: Hazy deep gold body beneath a massive head of rocky white that settles slowly and leaves some remarkable lacing behind. The head eventually drops completely, but always maintains a full surface covering. Quite nice!
Aroma: Tropical/citrusy hops. Sweet and candyish golden malt. Background leaves and grass.
Flavor: More piney than the aroma suggests, but also remarkably tropical with pineapple, mango, grapefruit, and apricot. It's a bit earthy as well with some dried leaves or tea-like character. It's got a huge biscuit and golden caramel malt component to it, but it's also decisively bitter with a jab that cuts through it and balances it out. The candyish sweetness found in the nose isn't really there, and it finishes mainly dry with a solid drying bitterness and some residual leafy, grassy, and piney hops lingering shortly.
Mouthfeel: Medium-full in body with a dextrinous side. A fine-bubbled, median carbonation leaves it gently bristling on the tongue and then smoother across the palate.
Overall: It's nice to see a more "full throttle" beer coming out of Summit, loaded with both malt and hops. It's right on-trend with its tropical hop character, and it doesn't lack in any way. Worth seeking out!
