Poured from bottle into glass.

A: After being poured into a glass had a light amber color with a nice fluff white head that stayed for a while and left traces on the sides of the glass.

S: Hoppy and caramel. A little bit of malty caramel at first but then has a hint of a mettalic and bitter taste

T: A little bit of malty caramel at first but then has a hint of a metallic and bitterness.

M: Medium body not heavy at all with a nice amount of carbonation.

D: Didn't expect the bitterness but liked the contrast between the first taste and then when the bitterness hit. The taste has a nice longevity to it.

Old penny colored beer has no real head to speak of. The nose is caramel malt. Taste is very simple, caramel malt and bitter hop resin. Mouthfeel is sticky and fizzy. This is a refreshing beer with no real off-flavors but it is painfully boringgg. Sorry I fell asleep just thinking about it

This one pours a lovely dark amber-I could look at this brew all day! Fairly good head retention, nice lacing all the way down the glass. Malty sweet smell. The taste is pretty low key compared to other IPAs. It has a nice caramel flavor, with a pleasently bitter finish. There's maybe a little wood (oak?) there. I would have no problem downing a few of these in one sitting.

I don't quite know if this is an IPA-it seems more like a bitter. Then again, what do I know. This is a darn good beer, no matter what style it falls under.

12 oz bottle. Pours a ruby amber with a huge frothy off-white head the retains and laces the glass.

The aroma is grassy vegetal hops. Not very pleasant at all.

The flavor is grassy hops leading to a bitter finish. The mouthfeel is extremely watery - it tends to wash out the flavor.

Overall, not a great example of an IPA. It has good bitterness, but it's pretty simplistic and unbalanced, and I don't care for the grassiness.

First off, nice brown bottle. This beer pours much darker than the IPA's I have had in the past. Not bad, just darker. Head is superb. Smell is of sweet malted barley, a little more full bodied than I would have expected. Tastes medium bodied, heavier than IPA's I've had. There is a lot of hoppiness. Feels very sweet and heavy in the mouth, goes down smooth. Overall, as you have probably guessed so far, I dod not get the feeling that I was drinking a IPA. I would recommend Summit's Extra Pale Ale if you want a more traditional brew.

Many thanks to MeLikeBeer for this one...
Dark copper in color...less than a finger of white head. Most disappears within a few minutes and very little lacing is left behind.
Toasted malt in the nose with a decent dose of fruity hops...not overwhelming which is expected.
The taste is nice...hop profile makes itself more known and a hefty malt backbone to balance it out. Finishes quite bitter and not overly dry.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and the carbonation is just where I want it...one heck of a session IPA.
Only my second or third beer from these folks at Summit...I'd definitely be a regular at the brewery if I lived nearby. At the very least, their offerings would be in constant rotation in the fridge.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into tall glass.

Appearance: Very clear burnished amber, with off-white head and slight lacing.

Smell: Very fruity, with some bread dough, caramel and light English hops.

Taste: Some caramel, toast and fruit, but strong spicy bitterness comes through especially at the finish. However, there is not much actual hop taste to back up the bitterness.

Feel: Moderately high carbonation, medium body, very dry finish.

Drinkability: A little too much bitterness in comparison to the flavor profile. But still a good example of an English IPA.

Appearance is a slightly hazy orange with ruby highlights. Two fingers of foam appear on pouring into a pint glass then settles to a thin layer for the duration. Aroma is of sweet malt with faint smells of grassy and piney hops and a little bit of fresh yeast. Taste is of malt up front balancing nicely with moderate hop bitterness. Hop flavors of grass and pine are delicious and linger into the medium-dry finish. I liked this English IPA better than I thought I would because of the balance and it's pretty true to style for an English IPA (more malt and hop bitterness but restrained hop aroma). It could use some more English hops in it since I detected some distinct American hops, but alas, English hops are so difficult to come by. Still worth a taste if your looking for a good example of English IPA.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle into pint glass.

Appearance: Dark amber orange with a medium white head that fades into a thin white layer. Pretty good lacing.

Smell: Mild citrus and earthy hops followed by a scent of citrus. Hints of pale malt, lemon, and dried fruit.

Taste: Starts with some malty and fruity sweetness and spice. Then a nice bite of citrus and earthy hops. Also a hint of caramel.

Mouthfeel: Medium body and carbonation. Fairly smooth.

Overall: A lighter but pretty decent tasting and complex IPA.

Continues the Summit tradition (so well done in their Pale) of massive citrus/chew amounts of hops...it is an IPA but I think they let it get a little out of balance here, there's a lot of "grapefruit"...nice presentation, though, good strength, color, mouthfeel and no off or conflicting tastes..

Appearance: Copper amber body large tan caramel head leaves intricate even lacing. Aroma: Roasty caramel edged malts are present along with an earthy pine hop tone. Taste: Earthy and pine cone hop flavor brings hop burps along with a mild roasty sweetness and strong welcomed bitterness. Mouthfeel: Medium bodied grips to the palate a bit evenly carbonated not too spritzy. Drinkability: Tasty hoppy IPA not the most flavorful or aggressive but definitely a solid offering for Minnesota standards it's sad compared to Masala Mama but it's all good or least okay.

Summit IPA pours light orange amber color with a small head after a violent pour. Head retained throughout the entire drink with good lacing.

The hops character doesn't jump out at you like some IPA's but I do smell more malt than I expected. I smell a hint of bread dough in there too.

The taste isn't really anything impressive, some bittering hops, ok. But not really anything citrus or complex in there. It has a taste more along the lines of regular APA, I would compare the hop character to Sierra Nevada PA. There is a nice balance of sweetness to go with what hops it has though, and this makes it go down pretty easily.

Summit makes some good beers their IPA isn't their best in my opinion. I like the Extra pale ale alot, but for the same price I would buy a two hearted or crooked tree.

Sharp hoppyness in both the aroma and in the flavour. I think the hops throw this beer a bit out of balance, the rest of the beer (particularly the malt) is a bit thin in comparison to the amount of hops, its not bad, theres enough flavour in this one, its just the balance and the enjoyabiltity factor that i didn't particularly enjoy. Reminded me of Schlafly Winter ESB, but perhaps not as strong. Thanks to Feloniousmonk for this!

A medium off white head sits above a clear reddish amber colored IPA. The head falls into a pretty nice looking lacing.

Aroma is caramel malt mixed with darker hops that has some earthiness to it.

Roasted caramel malts blend well with the hops and seems to get better with each drink.

A medium bodied beer with a quite dry aftertaste.

Although this isn't like the west coast IPA the I really crave I still pretty much enjoyed this IPA.

A nice addition to my "I've drank that" list.

Poured into a tulip glass, a hazy amber color with a thick white head that ran away quickly. A sweet malty and floral hops nose to this beer. The taste is citrusy hops and a bit nutty and malty. The beer has a medium body and not much in the line of lingering taste. No my favorite IPA but not bad.
