Appearance: Filtered golden straw hue bright white large head forms nicely in my conical v-shaped pilsner glass with each sip leaves thick clinging patches of lace, very nice. Aroma: Saaz and grassy citrus tones for this Bohemian style pils has a mineral note along with biscuit malts breadiness nice touch of hops here. Taste: Crisp flavor definitely a solid all around pils strong hop leafy flavor solid bitterness lightly toasted 2 row and bready pilsner malts, it mixes well here. Mouthfeel: Lighter body healthy carbonation crisp is a good word for the overall feel. Drinkability: I'd seriously pick up a case if going to a friend's house to watch a game or a party to convert Bud/Miller/Coors fanatics.

The CANQuest (tm) backlog keeps bringing forth surprise after surprise! I am actively seeking out Pilsners at this point, so to find one in my clearing-out is a double-plus bonus.

From the CAN: "Proudly Brewed in St. Paul, Minnesota"; "Bohemian Style"; "Mother Nature doesn't want your empties. Please recycle."

I was really excited about the prospect of a Pilsner, but I managed to CANtain myself & simply Crack! open the vent. My gentility in terms of the Glug led to the formation of two-plus fingers of pillowy, soapy, foamy, bone-white head with modest retention. Color was Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, leading to an unannounced visit by The Gelt Gang of Mammon, Croesus & Midas. Nose had the grassy, hay-like quality of Saaz as well as the biscuitiness of Pilsner malt. Yum! Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, but on par for the style's course. The taste was quite pleasant, very grassy-hay-like with a slight honey quality to go with the biscuitiness. Mmm. Finish was dry & highly refreshing. I CAN't believe that they disCANtinued its production! 8=(

Gold hay piss color, good head of 1 finger

Clean slightly bready aromas, mostly grain

Flavor is slightly bready, mostly crackery, sharp hop presence

Feel is crisp and clean, slight chalkiness

Overall a very enjoyable pilsner

This is just slightly above average for the style. It pours a darker hazy orange color with about a finger of head. There was some lacing left on the glass.

Beer was very easy on the palate and had nice coloring but the aroma was underwhelming and the finish was somewhat subpar from what I would expect from a Summit beer. However this beer would be a great casual drinking beer for for a bbq or a social outing with friends but don't expect to experience bold flavors, nice aroma, or a really nice looking presentation of the beer on the pour, because if you go in with those high expectations you will be disappointed. Not a bad beer, but also not a great beer. 3.5 out of 5.

I've been in the mood for pilseners recently, especially Bohemians, so when I saw this on the menu at a local pub I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm always up for downing a pilsener or two.

This beer pours a clear, glowing golden straw hue that has a frothy, white head that dissipates fairly quickly but levels off at a thin lacing. Carbonation is moderate. 4/5 The aroma is of moderate intensity and is primarily grainy and grassy with a light sweetness. It is very clean and fresh smelling and well balanced between sweet and sharp. As the beer warms a bit of a pear note comes through which is a nice addition to the grain and grass. 4/5 The flavor profile is of similar intensity to the aroma with the same notes coming through quite nicely. Consistency is key here and Summit seems to have their act together in that regard. There is a bit of a green apple finish but it is not off-putting. Bitterness is moderate and lingers only slightly on swallowing. 3.75/5 This beer is light bodied and crisp, with a bit of a prickliness to it. It really is not drying and is rather light on carbonation mouthfeel. 4/5 This is a good Bohemian pilsener that eschews the dryness and bitterness of its Bavarian cousin. This one is well balanced and is very sessionable. 4/5

A disappointing pilsner. Strong flavors of paper and corn. Weak flavors of witch hazel and pepper. Slightly lemony. Rough carbonation. Not a winner. There are so many better pilsners than this. I bought a twelve pack, and wish I hadn't, though the price was relatively low.
