This beer had a medium sized white head with fine-small bubbles that fully dissipated. The beer's body was clear with carbonation present. The hue was golden and the lacing was fair. The nose was malty and hoppy and the flavor was chewey, bitter, tangy, tart from start to finish with a lingering aftertaste. The mouthfeel of this beer was tingly, fairly smooth and medium bodied.

Sweet wet cardboard smell. Very carbonated filtered crystal off yellow look with a white head. Sweet tangy, weakish watery flavor. Strange chewy, smoothish medium mouth for a pilsner. You expect more taste from the mouthfeel but, It's not there.
Cheers to Budgood1 for the sample.

Beer served in a wine glass out of a bottle. Beer is yellow with a small sparse head, clear body that is straw yellow.
The beer smells like grain and mild sulfur, not really appealing.
Beer is thin and watery with a grainy aftertaste and a biting minor bitterness with a mild aftertaste. The beer is pretty disappointing, a below average pilsner.

Appearance - A golden amber color with a light foamy head which quickly disappears.
Smell - Malt and bubbly carbonation.
Taste - Tastes grainy and seems to be missing something? Hops abound creating a slightly bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Crisp and clean. Light bodied.
Drinkability - Despite the name, this is not quite a euro Pilsener. Summit beers are great, but they need to rethink this. More malt and less hops would be an improvement.

A: Light clean straw color with a few meandering bubbles. Head doesn't offer much, just a small film on top.
S: Copper coins, corn pops and dry hay
T: First impression is how grainy this beer is. Next comes yellow corn and minor caramel. Finishes with mineral tastes and more grainy flavors.
M: Medium body, fuzzy (like most all the other summit beers)

12oz into Portsmouth pint glass. No bottle date is present, but this code is there "12381101". I think that I have had this bottle for a couple of months.
A: Pours a very clear yellow color similar to a BMC beer. About a finger of bright white head. Lingers a while.
S: Basically smells like BMC. Light bready malts. No real hops.
T: Mild hop (?) bitterness on the tip of the tongue. Then all biscuity malt in the mid mouth. Good carbonation to clear it.

A - golden with a fizzy white head, lots of carbonation, some yeast suspended also
S - sweet, vegetal, corn, biscuit, grass
T - overly sweet, corn, grass, faint herbalness, soapy
M - lighter bodied, higher carbonation makes it feel fuller, sharp semi-bitter, semi-dry finish
O - unimpressed with this Pilsener. I won't be buying this one again.

Tasted on 01/18/06 at Bricks (Beer Bar) in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Clear straw color with a low white film and virtually no carbonation. Boring standard/typical low hop and standard malt aroma and flavor -- not much different than a higher-end macro. Light bodied with a thin finish. A Pilsener more like Miller touts than it's European counterparts... pass.
Per Label: "Summit Grand Pilsener"
Per SBC website:
12 P, 27 IBU, 5% ABV, 5.5L (color).
Malts: Harrington, CaraMunich
Hops: Warrior, Saaz, Vanguard

Pilsener pours a typical golden color, with a nice size lasting head, and plenty of carbonation bubbles. The smell while not strong did have skunk like qualities. The taste was pleasant, rather light, had a nice mellow straw like flavor, a few hops, and was actually a bit sweet, but the aftertaste isn't that great. While easy to drink, that aftertaste would stop me from getting more. Overall a pretty nice pils, nothing spectacular but has some good qualities.

Starts out pretty well - appearance is a clear golden hue, solid foamy white head, and good retention. Things go downhill from there. Smells like it will be pretty sweet, with a heavy yeast presence, and dull earthy hops.
Flavor is pretty similar to the smell. Heavy, sweet, and malty, with too much yeast influence and not enough hop contribution. Comes off pretty one dimensional without balance. Finish is grainy with a bit of alcohol.
Body is decent, but carbonation is dull. Needs more of a pilsener bite and effervescence. Neither dry nor crisp.
By far, Summit's weakest beer. Not terrible, but not all that enjoyable nor is it a very good representation of the style.
