Cloudy golden color, hazier up at the top, with an impressive head, 2" thick, white as a cloud and fluffy as one, too, with a slow, lacey crumble. (Perhaps the Aventinus glass I poured it into aided in this.)
Aroma is overall soft and subdued, but full of weizen character, spikey with citrus, spicy, but mellow and dry.
Rich, tangy, grainy, mouthfeel at first, with a tasty, rewarding finish. Body is light/medium, and smooth. Lacking complexity, but high on the drinkability, with just enough flavor.
A brew I return to every summer, over and over. (555 characters)

This beer poured a nice cloudy amber to tan in color. There was a nice head on top of this beer, but there was little to no lace from the beer. The aroma was primarily of cloves with a banana and other esters also noticeable. The taste gives way to a heavy clove with citrus and fruits. Even though this is not very full-bodied, it is highly drinkable. I consider this more of an American Wheat than a German Hefeweizen. (420 characters)

The first thing you notice when looking at a bottle of Summit Hefe is the buildup of yeast inside the bottle...when pouring it into your favorite pint glass you want to make sure to swirl continuously so you get all of it that you can. The smell was that of cloves with an undertone of citrus. Once poured I noticed it had a thin head and a very cloudy appearance...pretty much expected for any Hefe. The taste to me wasn't as good as Paulaner but it was very good for an American hefe. Overall it was a highly drinkable beer and one I will be purchasing extensively in the future. I think I paid $6.75 for a 6 pack but it was well worth the experience. (653 characters)

The beer was a nice cloudy golden color with a short-lived white head. The aroma was wheaty sweet with spiced banana. The taste was more of the same with a little more citrus than the aroma. The mouthfeel was good with high carbonation, yet it was smooth. It is very highly drinkable and quite refreshing. One of the better American Hefes (343 characters)

Pours a cloudy golden with a big soft rocky head that coats the glass as you drink...nose is of cloves primarily...this has a fairly nice maltiness to it..banana notes emerge ever so slightly as you drink it...not a bundle of flavor, but it is easy drinking, thirst quenching and a nice soft malty flavor....A great summer beer, but not an all-time great HEFE..Very solid though... (381 characters)

this is one beautiful beer! deep golden color, the addition of all the yeast provides a very cloudy appearance and makes the head big and rocky...and it sticks around for the entire glass. aroma is somewhat muted, with the usual wheat and yeast spice characteristics, plus a touch of summit (northwest) hops which gives it a quite citrusy smell. a nice big mouthfeel and full body! although not huge in the taste department...enough of the bubble gum and vanilla flavors to make up for the lack of the big clove and banana flavors that make weizens so delectable. another summit winner! this is a great minnesota summer delight. (628 characters)

Very cloudy light-gold color, 1/4 inch head that I was expecting to be a litle bigger and rolling in character. Nice fresh aroma, a little nutmeg. Neutral mouthfeel, a little lacking in flavor but leans toward the spiced banana estery with just a slight tartness at the end. Better than I remembered it, not off-putting or sour but not super flavorful. Certainly easily drinkable in quantity. Other than the Grand, this is my least favorite Summit brew. (458 characters)

The beer has a hazy golden appearance with a big fat white head. It dissipates quickly, however it still laces nicely with what is left. It has a very nice aroma that displays most of your typical weizen qualities, with vanilla and clove being the strongest. Beautiful spiciness to the taste of this beer. And almost some citrus. Maybe a little. Very nice carbonation. This beer goes down the hatch very easily. One of my summer fall backs. Nicely done hefe weizen here. (478 characters)
