12oz bottle part of the unchained series
This pours up with a nice deep maroon color with a white cap. Smells like rye and sweet malt. Slight hop bit with lots of sweet malt and a touch of rye.
I love this

On tap at the Blind Pig Brewery - Champaign, IL
Pours a rusty, brownish orange with a foamy khaki colored head with tons of chunky lacing as it slowly dissipates to a thin layer of foam atop the ale. Aromas are nutty, toasted rye bread, with some floral hops. Tastes are freshly baked rye bread, citrus, pine, and tobacco with a full-bodied mouth-feel that is followed by a sharp, bitter, astringent, peppery finish that leaves the palate bruised, so to speak. Alcohol is well concealed. Overall, this was a great treat! One of the best ryes I've had to date!
