a small bottle into a tulip and a cervoise -lots of foam.
The color is golden apricot with intense glow and 4 fingers of heady cream w/ a average sized bead. Lots of lace is left on the glass. The smell is great -packed with tons of tropical and citrus with an aroma that jumps up with tangerine and mango. The nose is very hop dominant with slight grassy and floral fragrance and hint of malt in the back with a mild grapefruit and herbal tea elemnent. Mouthfeel is bitter with slight fruitiness and light sweetness with pretty dry texture w/ moderately high bitterness and prickly carbonation w/ juicy tangy finish.
The taste really came off as dry rind-like w/ slight mango juicy flavor in the front with slight tangelo notes of leafy herbal hop and slight grassy edge with a hint of tea-like astringency and mild resins coat the mouth with a hint of green pepper earty taste with mild yeast creaminess as the flavor recedes into a dry toasty and almost earthy chalky flavor in the finish
Overall
A very high quality pale with hop forward taste which resembles an imperial pale in bold hop flavor, yet is still very quaffable like a west coast IPA, well done Summit!
