Been a Summit fan for a long time, never tried the Summer. Opted for a well-priced 12 pack after I took note that there were no "extras" added to this brew -- imagine my delight when I see BA is calling this a Kölsch (though Summit refrains from a label).
A -- Slightly hazy golden color with a delicate, persistent white head.
S -- Bright balance of citrus and spiciness in the nose.
T -- Light graininess up front with a light, mildly tart fruitiness following, finishing with a crisp bitterness. The aftertaste is a good balance of hop bitterness, light citrus fruitiness, and a dry graininess -- though after a couple there is a distinct tart vegetal character in the aftertaste that I find prevalent in many midwestern micros.
M -- Light smooth body, crisp and dry mouthfeel.
O -- A great addition to light and refreshing summer beers with a nicely bitter hoppiness when the craving hits. I was looking for Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on sale and this beer filled my craving for something light and hoppy at the same time. I just wish that tart vegetal character wasn't so prominent.

Poured from a 12oz. can into a pint glass.
Pours a pale straw color with a huge, foamy head that slowly dissipates and leaves som scattered lacing.
The aroma is of lemon, grass and a little sour funk in the background that seems a bit off.
The taste is lemon first, then a bit of bitter with a grassy, dry finish.
The mouthfeel is light and crisp, a bit bubbly with a slightly sticky finish.
Overall, a decent kolsch although, to me, something seemed slightly off. The can is fresh so that's not the issue. Not the best example of the style that I've had.

Out of a Summit sampler.
Poured into a pint glass.
It's yellow with a fair head. Decent carbonation.
Smells like grass. Not a lot going on.
Tastes like grass, malty with a bitter finish. Nice hop bite. Not bad.
Nothing extraordinary, but pleasant. Nice price too.
